Hi all, this is my first deal ever posted. Appears to be the 2nd cheapest deal on the JBL Xtreme ever.
Just spotted the JBL Xtreme going for a pretty good price at JB-HiFi apart of the new Audio Avalanche catalogue.
Harvey Norman has already acted and dropped their price with office works also dropping their price of the JBL Xtreme but to $249 instead of $228.
Going to pick one up for myself this afternoon as I've been after a JBL Xtreme for a while, upgrading from my JBL Flip 4.
Offer ends 14th march
JBL Xtreme Bluetooth Speaker $228 @ JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman ($121 off)

Was just thinking of going to officeworks instead to price beat and I could also use a discount card to get it down to $216.60 so yeah. Stock seems to be plentiful in Cairns stores
Is this much better than the charge?
Quite an improvement over the Charge 3, has substantially upgraded drivers and passive radiators, also has dedicated tweeters. Quite a bit larger than the charge 3 but you get a massive 10,000mah battery and dual usb charge outs. If you can deal with the large footprint, the Xtreme is a great speaker. FYI: The Xtreme 2 is coming out soon with a couple of upgrades but for this price I'd rather take the current Xtreme.
Agreed. I once went around trying all the BT speakers in myers/jb/officeworks, this one had the best sound quality by far.
There was some speaker that had two different protocols for multi-speaker, where the old models could only be paired with the exact same model but the new models can be paired with any newer model. Does anyone know if that's a JBL protocol and if this is the new or old protocol?
The Xtreme uses the older Connect protocol, the new speakers like the flip 4 (and the Xtreme 2, clip 3 and any other jbl bluetooth speakers announced at CES 2018) have the Connect + protocol. The Xtreme won't be able to connect to any of the new JBL speakers but can connect to the older ones like the charge 3, flip 3, another xtreme, etc.
Thanks. Also worth noting it appears the Xtreme 2 was announced in January with Connect+.
is this better than the XB40 in terms of value for price
It's a bit better in terms of value when the Xtreme is on sale. When not on sale however, the XB40 is a better value IMO
FYI I just bought one. Hard to choose between this and the Sony XB40 but most reviews gave a very slight edge to this.
I’m not sure how I feel about it. After a few hours of playing I’m not really enjoying the lack of separation I’m used to from headphones and I’ve been playing with a lot of equalisers and yet to find anything that really sings to me.
it's $249 at good guys Ebay, and using 20% off coupon it becomes around $199.
I just bought an Xtreme yesterday afternoon and it sounds great! Loving the loud and strong bass output, definitely an improvement over my flip 4. Treble gets kinda harsh at high volumes but it's not to unbearable levels. Can't comment on battery life yet of course but seems decent so far. Big speaker and 4x heavier than my flip 4 so it's handy that a shoulder strap is included in the box. All in all I'd say it's worth it!
Harvey dropped their price first ($228) yesterday so i went to the local office works to price beat. no stock in store at any brizzy stores. :(
