Setting up a Footy Tipping Comp at Work

I’m wanting to set up a footy tipping Comp at my office and would ancitpate at least 50 people entering.

What is the best way to collect and store money/prizes?

Any feedback really appreciated.

    I quite like:
http://www.footytips.com.au as this allows people to put their tips in even if they are away or ill or whatever.

I have seen Comps on there where people can sign up and then need to pay (whatever) by Round 3 otherwise you can boot them.

Agree with this. Then tips can be put in at any time and automatically tracked

  • We have a guy who runs it every year. He set up an account and we pay our entry $$ by direct deposit to the account. If we win a prize we receive cash

  • Best way to do money/prizes would be you collect the money then buy the prizes. Lets say $20 entry * 50 people =$1000

    1st $500 Visa card

    2nd $250 Visa card

    3rd $200 Visa card

LAST PLACE $50 Visa card - for this one you'd need to make sure they weren't just not playing but actually sucked at tipping lol.

    • You get around the issues with "last place" by making it something like 10th place (or some random position).

      • I think you can tell if you use footy tips who hasn’t entered that week.

Maybe make it don’t enter 3 times and you’re out…?

        • It's just a way to keep some more people involved (maybe) and add a bit of novelty for anyone who is still putting tips in, but won't get on the dais.

I've usually set it up that no entry still gives you away teams, or outsiders, or some other "forced" tip.

  • I like the Visa card solution above.
Are you intending to incorporate a weekly jackpot for tipping all winners? That is where it becomes difficult IMO. My work has that for an additional $5 paid weekly, which adds up to a lot of money over the season. They lost me as a participant.

  • Re: Storing the prize. Find out if the office has a safe. Have it stored in there. Ideally not as cash.
