Just updates the Coles MasterCard app.
I keep getting the error - "We've detected a security issue on your device. The app will now close for security".
I have a rooted my Redmi Note 4x and have Magisk manager installed v14.0. All other banking apps work fine.

I think because of Magisk manager this overrides it.
You can hide root for selected applications
Not always.
Majisk has a hide root module that has been working for me fine.
EDIT: I stand corrected, Majisk has a menu to hide it from selected Apps. I cannot speak for Coles app though as it just hangs on startup (but does not show any security-related message). I have SuperMan's ROM
Thanks. I have my RAMS app ticked for that and it works fine, as do all my other banks, just the coles one that isn't working.
They are doing maintenance from Friday 2/3 through to today 5/3. They've been notifying about this on their website for the past 2 weeks.
As a test I also just updated and tried the new app - I cannot even login. I can't even login to the website. Wait until tomorrow and see how you go.
Did you register again? Looks like you have to because has completely changed over to Citibank.
I did it successfully, can login and see card info but can't see flybuys info page. Getting "unable to connect to server" error.
Dunno if buggy or just getting hammered with people registering/logging in.
No I didn't. Thanks for the tip. Will wait until tomorrow and try again after re-registering
Can't sign in to the app/website.
Did you re register?
No.
That's why. At least the new Android app now has fingerprint login :)
Do we really need to register? Didn't get notified at all.
@PissLUR: It pops up when it redirects you to the new website…
Nothing tells you on the app though.
I agree, communication could have been better.
@John Kimble:
So it works for you?@bullettime: Yep, but my phone is not rooted, so I didn't get a security error, just a wrong login/password error.
Flybuys section working now too.
@PissLUR: I got an email 10pm last night…haha
Note the credit facility has now been changed to Citibank from wesfarmers
Incorrect, it was Latitude to Citibank.
Latitude Financial Services Australia Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 46 603 161 100) performs services on behalf of the credit provider in relation to Wesfarmers Finance Pty Ltd.
Wesfarmers Finance Pty Ltd ABN 58 601 282 455, Australian Credit Licence Number 470916 ("we" or the "Credit Provider") is the Credit Provider for your Coles Credit Card
I stand corrected (technically I suppose).
It was Latitude and their system/infrastructure running it though.
If you applied for your Coles Credit Card before 25th February 2018, Account Cover Plus was an optional insurance cover you may have purchased for your Coles Credit Card. If you did choose to purchase Account Cover Plus, your premium is based on your Outstanding Balance on your Monthly Statement and is capped at a maximum charge of $50. This Premium is automatically debited to your Coles Mastercard account each month and is contained in your statement.
The best feature of the Coles credit card is no longer available for new customers
I expect they will soon "discontinue" the insurance product for existing customers.
Something like announcing that products purchased within the next 6 months will be eligible for the 24 month coverage but products purchased after will not.
I switched over to the new coles login and less than 24 hrs later, my card was compromised and closed. Hope it is just a coincidence.
The 'pay my account' feature on the new website seems to be much slower than the old one. Still can't see my account balance changing within Coles MC, though my savings account was debited yesterday. I never like paying the 1% premium for the Account cover plus insurance so the payment better clear soon!
FYI - i can login, but i get the security error more times that i can login.
Not sure whether that's a glitch or what with this new app.I can login on the website no problems. In the app I get to the 'create 4 digit PIN' and after that it errors "Unable to Connect to Server"
Another mess
can't login to App on two phones.
This is useless.
I’m really sorry – the new Mobile Wallet app has a much tighter security policy compared to the previous mobile app. As a result, the Mobile Wallet app will not run on rooted devices. To use the Mobile Wallet app, you’ll need to unroot your device or use the mobile-friendly Online Service Centre,

Thanks. Good thing I'm no longer in the country from next week onwards. Card has been super helpful though, will just use their online service centre. One less app!
Just figured this out - in the settings menu of magisk manager, turn on hide magisk manager and the app will work. I assume it cannot detect magisk itself but looks for specific package names in /data/ and flags the device as rooted - magisk being one on the list.
(this is in addition to setting magisk hide for the coles app itself)
Thanks, I can confirm above method worked. Had to reboot the phone of course.
Also statement date has changed after they moved to the new system, might caught someone out with the account plus insurance cover.
I'm surprised the other apps work fine, I thought most of them detected for root and disabled features
