    "Critics claim they trigger everything"
No, a small fringe do. A valid criticism is that while making it a lot easier to put ingredients on labels without covering the packet in a wall of text, it can be hard to find out which are ones groups wish to avoid due to the risk of real or perceived harm or religious/philosophical proscription among the majority of the innocuous ones.

  • This app seems very specific to Islamic diet rules and lacks information found in other similar, free apps.

  • We just need to assign sugar an e-number and our obesity crisis would be solved!

    • Some sugars already have an E-number. Examples: E150a caramel, E1200 polydextrose.

Having an E-number for every sugar would make it even harder for people to spot sugar in an ingredients list. It's already listed under many different names to disguise it, changing those names to E-numbers will make it more difficult.

Isn't anyone concerned about "full network access" permission this app wants, for no apparent reason?

    • +1

Thats to go with the full access to your files. :P

    • Just needs storage permission for me…

      • Are you looking at what permissions manager tells you? That isn't the full list, have a look at what it says your web browser uses, and you'll probably find that it doesn't need any internet access at all! If you want to know the full list, either look at what Google Play (the website) says, or there are apps like "App Detective" that will tell you.

        • Oh yeah. Anyway, my apps can only get network access if I allow them by default anyway. Still, a bit sus.

        • @McFly:

my apps can only get network access if I allow them

How do you achieve that? I have Noroot firewall installed, but that only blocks http traffic, not udp. Is your Android rooted?

@Russ: It is, but that's not how I do it - it's a Xiaomi and MIUI has that feature built-in.
