good question, actually i didnt know either. but which xxxx negged Bonbon's post? whats wrong if we dont know and ask?!

        • Which XXXX? I'd say XXXX Gold, he was always a shifty bastard that one (as well as having piss weak taste).

      • +1

LOL, I thought it was Operator

  • how long does it normally take to delivery?

    • around this time of year (xmas) around 3-4 weeks. I ordered something mid Nov and only got it last week.

      • thanks, i'll be hopeful i'll get it in under 3 weeks then.

  • +1

cool, this site sells some stuff much cheaper than here in Australia so 10% off of those prices is really good!

  • damn it put a big order in last week! Good bargain though!

  • does anyone know the actual read and write speed of the transcend class 10?

    • no idea, but once I got one, and for whatever reason it's MUCH slower than my old transcend class 6 card I'd been using.

      • Might I hazard a guess that the class 6 that you perceived to be faster was for a smaller amount of storage space than the Class 10???

    • class 2 = 2 mb/sec transfer rate
      class 4 = 4 mb/sec so.. on

class 10 is the fastest transfer rate at this moment (good for digital SLR camera specially with burst/multiple shots)

HOWEVA! your hardware must support this class

      • -1

tchi6 asked about the actual speed. this transcend cl10 card has been on sale on mymemory for ages. i read some review and dont think it is a genuine class 10. its performance is not much different to some class 4 and class 6 of other brands.

        • +1

true, has been on sale for sometime but the 10% off is a deal sweetner. while it may not be as fast as other class 10 cards, doesnt the fact it has that rating mean it meets the minimum 10 mb/s transfer rate? not sure but thats always how I understood it.

anyway, I have just received this card from my previous order a couple weeks back and am happy to run tests on it when I get back home so feel free folks to suggest which benchmarking programs you want me to post results from (preferably mac but I have windows on bootcamp too)

  • Great!
Thanks for the tip off. I just bought the Transcend 600 - 32GB for AU$57 (36 quid) including postage.
I already have an 8GB class 10 stick but I'm always wishing it was much bigger.

I checked out some peoples real world experience with it on the net and it does indeed achieve 18mb/s write speed.

I was also looking at the Corsair Voyager GT 32GB but I came across too many disappointed buyers.
Although, who knows if they might have bought a fake one from ebay.

welcome bender - dw we all wish we had a bigger stick ;)

  • Awesome, cheers ccrap! I just grabbed a couple of Sandisk C4 16gb SDHC's for a shade under 29quid or $48 delivered in our mighty world-beating Aussie dollars! :D

    • Actually, my CC provider's pending transactions tell me it's closer to $46…woohoo! :D

      • happy days! wizard clear advatage?

        • No, Newcastle Permanent Building Society of all places! Their actual card rates are nothing to write home about, but I seem to get very decent exchange rates no matter which currency I purchase in! :)

  • I am looking at getting a 2 16gb micro sdhc cards. Has anyone tested the kingston ones from this site for speed?
Little wary as the newer sandisks are slower than the older ones, so kingstons might be too.

    • which class?

  • Is class 4 standard for cameras and phones? Does a larger number - ie 10 - mean it's better than class 4?

    • Each class designation directly reflects the minimum sustained Data Transfer Rate (DTR) of the card.
      Class 2: minimum DTR of 2 MB/second
      Class 4: minimum DTR of 4 MB/second
      Class 6: minimum DTR of 6 MB/second

  • Ha beat me to it

  • Does the SDHD deal still exist? The link didn't work and I checked the Transcend part of their site but no class 10's.

    • Copy and paste this in their search box

Transcend 16GB SD Card (SDHC) - Class 10

      its still there.

      • You're a legend, thanks

        • LOL! You just did, signed up to comment on this post.
This must be the longest user ID in OzB!

        • haha no kidding powerevo. wow he/she finally bit the bullet and signed up just to comment for this deal - i feel special lol

  • does it work with NDSi

    • micro sd card and NDSi ..hmm … are you the member of the "society" ? :P

      • I am really want to know before I buy it for my son, please help.

        • +1

You'll need flash card, ie. Acekard 2i + microSD

  • Do I need a card reader as well? thanks

  • Is this code still working?
i've just put through an order (stupidly before checking on ozbargain) and now i want to put another one through (and cancel the old one), however when i enter in the code on the checkout page, i don't see any discounts.
I though it was just my item but i've even added 2 of the blurays and it still didn't give a discount, also tried the code on the paypal page just before confirming, and still nothing.

    Help please? Thanks!

    • the "24 hours only" in the thread title tells the story

      • ah thanks mate, i saw that…i just saw this post today though and assumed it was a new one for today.

        Cheers

  • I bought mine just in time this morning.. thanks for sharing!

I think the 10% off deal has finished. It's not showing up on their homepage anymore.
