After buying a new car and moving out, I've realized that the grass that i track into the car doesn't just go away. I'm in need of a vacuum cleaner, whether that be portable or a long lead, that will allow me to evict the grass out of my car. Looking particularly under $50 if possible. Cheaper the better.
A Cheap Portable Vacuum Cleaner That I Can Use to Clean My Car

Look around the Op shops.
I personally would never get a electrical good from a op shop, it’ll probably break the next week lol
It depends on the brand, if it is a well known one you are probably better off than a new unknown. I do agree I would never buy a second hand kettle etc, who knows what has been boiled in it, but a car vac should be OK.
Yea but any electrically item bought second hand u don’t now how old it is, that is my issue, if it’s too old I find electric items just aren’t worth the risk. It’s just a risky thing I don’t believe it’s worth taking.
@cloudy: Know what you mean but I still think it is worth it for a car vacuum. Horses for courses.
@cloudy: last hard rubbish collection I collected 8 vacuums that were being chucked. only one did not work. 3 of them had broken parts - one of those was unfixable.
the others- I checked their wiring (looking for wearing of the insulation), checked carbon brushes, cleaned them out(usually a build of dust and hair). gave them a wipe down. looking good. they sit in my shed waiting for when for my current 5 year old vacuum dies (which I've fixed twice).
unless the motor is seized or the wiring frayed then there is little for them to go wrong.
You have my respect, true Ozbargainer.
Cheap, Portable, Good - Pick 2
High pressure wash
"whether that be portable or a long lead" - get a new girlfriend and that should fill both criteria to clean the car.

Can confirm, have girlfriend.

This fits ur requirements whilst it’s on special.
Champion mate! i'll look into this one!
Yea, and Hoover is a good brand too.
I have been using the similar one that I got from kmart. Worked fine a d is only for $20-30. Don't remember exactly. The only issues with these types is the lack of attachments for the car. Last time I was in kmart, I also saw the corded car specific vacuum cleaner with cigarette lighter power having attachments useful for the car. Do check it out as well.
It works. However it doesn't have enough sucking power. Not nearly.
In particular for a car, car mats and so on.I am afraid it has to be a good, powerful, usually expensive brand. Even a good working second hand one will do. Needs power!
If you have any 18V battery power tools most brands offer a Vacuum skin at a reasonable price.
Have a look for something like the Breville outlet stores they usually have reconditioned hand/car vacs. In Melbourne we have one at the end of Smith St in Fitzroy.
Extension cord and use your home vacuum. Can't beat that suction.
Reminds me of a girl I once knew … good times, good times.
Reminds me of a girl I once knew
She had an extension cord ? ? ?
Hard for people in apartments to pull it down to the car park
True I agree on this point. My last apartment had power point near the lift so I could vacuum if I parked close to it.
If you have mains power near your vehicle you could use this one on special from Kogan presently at $45, with attachments, delivered.

Reasonable power rating for a small unit and can be used as a "hand held".
You could use the extension attachment to clear the cobwebs in your garage, when you finish your car.
Now increased to $49…geez that was quick!!!!
I think Kmart has a car hand held vacuum for $12.
Any cheapo hand vac
or a dyson
