The deal was just posted and removed by mods as sockpuppeting, but really sounds like a decent deal, the price on Amazon itself is lower than everywhere else $61.99 and with the cashback it almost repeats a deal from the past https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/279337

Link for cashback is here, Amazon is stated as retailer… https://promotions.braunhousehold.com.au/backtoschoolcash/Re…

I've just ordered one with a free delivery, let's see how it goes…

Picked up one of these a few years ago for $9 from Target when they last had their cashback promo, has served us well and would recommend for this price.

    • thank you for your comment, looks like a decent iron, so pulled the trigger as our Philips doesn't produce steam as good as it used to be

Same here. Decent iron but nothing fantastic, has work solidly for a couple of years.

    • Yeah I picked one of these bad boys up on the same deal. So far so good - been happy with it

    • was thinking of getting one, but after reading you got yours for $9, my ozbargain spirit is not letting me buy this for $31.99

      • Sorry about that, but if it helps ease your mind I would definitely buy it for this price.

Two pictures on Amazon for this iron show different steam ratings, 140 gms/min and 170 gms/min. Not sure which one to believe?
Is there a way to contact the seller on Amazon to ask a question like eBay?

    • as per the official website Precision shot/Horizontal and vertical steam: 140g/min
      http://www.braunhousehold.com/en-au/all-products/home-applia…

      • thanks

        • you're welcome

        • received the iron and it's clearly saying 170g/min…

    • FYI this would be the burst shot rating, not the constant steam rate you use while ironing. The constant rate is 40g/min.

I have the TS505 with a 30g/min rating and it's pretty low for thick shirts or jeans etc. I'm wanting to upgrade.

Ts & Cs for the cashback promotion say "A Participating Retailer does not include a retailer who only operates online stores without bricks and mortar." I would assume that excludes amazon from the promotion

Picked one up for my feminist friend, THANKS OP

  • Should I wait for the item to be delivered to claim the cash back ?

    • +1

I think so, or at least wait for dispatch confirmation…

    • I 'tried' to fill in the claim form after I bought it just now and realised I can't select today's date (27/2) on the Date of Purchase field.

      • I think we need to wait until we get the invoice number. Could be on the dispatch confirmation. Not sure how long is this cash back thing valid for.

  • Does it have a ceramic plate??

      Eloxal Soleplate

      • -1

umm is that better or worse??

        • +1

not sure, I only know that eloxal coating is a kind of surface treatment of aluminum parts

@sn809: thanks, now I know one Japanese word!

Eloxal is better. It is an electroplated aluminium alloy and it lasts longer than Teflon ( Ceramic is not as sturdy as Eloxal IMO )

I own one from Braun and it is excellent

        • @kamban:
          Thanks

I guess not as good as this deal at the time: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/277338

yep I bought one of those and have been using it for about a year now…can confirm it's a great little iron, especially at that price

I had this iron for a couple of years. It was ok, not great. IIRC, I returned it once after a few months because it stopped working. A few months ago, not only did it stop working but it tripped the power at my home when I plugged it in.

  • Assuming price has gone back up? Showing as $119 for me.

    • thank you, just reported it to be expired…

  • Clicking on the link, the price is $119.00????

    • thank you, just reported it to be expired…

for those who was wondering, received an iron on Monday, claimed cashbask on Monday around lunch time, the claim was approved and yesterday I received money into my account! win-win.

The iron looks nice, but I haven't tried it yet though…
