Looks exactly like the Aldi one just posted.

    • More pillows in the Aldi one. I'm sure Bunnings have more stock of them though.

Looks exactly like the Aldi one

      Just not as controversial.

    • +1

It would be exactly the same minus the product code or colour or something really insignificant.

Bunnings are arseholes, they intentionally do that so you can't price match.

BTW, has anyone ever been successful getting them to match a price?

      • +13

They're $20 cheaper and will have heaps of stock over Aldi - they can be arseholes all the like if that's the case!

I love grabbing some bargains in Aldi, but I seen this set yesterday in my local Bunnings and it looks decent and I know I wouldn't have to get into a brawl with a granny to get one like I would in Aldi.

Can I ask, is using the phrase 'I seen' some kind of popular internet slang? 'I have seen' it used many times on this website and it drives me bonkers, particularly being that the correct grammar ('I saw') uses less characters. I'm not trying to be the grammar police here, but I am genuinely interested to know.

        • +20

          @denlife: Do you even Australian?

        • @denlife: I'm not trying to be the grammar police here

          grammar Nazi… 1.

        • -1

@smartazz104: lol the private schools are all bible bashers, you would think reading all that would dilute the Australianisms present.

        • @smartazz104: the schools share shits?

I totally lost it at the "brawl with a granny" bit

          LMFAO!!!

        • @denlife: Apologies denlife - no offense intended! :)
I should, and normally would have, used "I've" instead of "I" in the sentence.

The seen/saw debate is a fairly common one throughout the years though so definitely not something recent!

        • @pennypincher98: wait people still believe in the bible?

Bunnings are arseholes, they intentionally do that so you can't price match.

To be fair to bunnings, its been this price since the 23rd of August, according to Pricehipster

        • +2

I was speaking more generally than for this specific item.

So many times I see identical Bunnings products where the packaging or product code is slightly different.

Only reason they do that is so you can match prices.

        • @Scab: Ahh, yeah i agree with you. I never bother even trying to price match/ beat at bunnings because of that

        • @Scab: I can assure that there is a BIG arsehole in Bunnings, Thornleigh. But others are generally friendly and helpful, tho I wouldn't bother price-matching at Bunnings since they have one or two additional letters for the MODEL of the same product sold elsewhere.

        • @Scab:

          Think you meant can't.

I have price matched from Bunnings - but it was on some roofing materials.. not something the general public would be going out to buy.

They didn't look at the product code or anything - I brought up the website and told them it was the same brand, colour and length/width and they price matched it. Free metro delivery included (however it was interstate, but neither of us noticed at the time).

I did do it at a busy time though. Props to the old lady too - she gave me a wink as she went through the hoops and repeated the 'total price' to price match (which happened to be lower than the price that I showed her on my phone)

I do agree they try to get out of price matches though - most retailers try to, to keep their profits. Masters did the same to me in store (then I went to Masters online chat and price matched the same item successfully) - still wish they were around too!

I have price matched from Bunnings

I finally found someone, didn't think they existed.

Props to the old lady too - she gave me a wink

Probably trying to crack onto you, I get the same thing at Bunnings, all the employees always smile and say hello to me.

Their stores are full of sex-starved sickos, you should see the attention I get in the hand tools aisle.

        • @Scab:

Do you see them wink with both eyes? I reckon you should be getting 20% off

      • You can do it with timber/gyprock/cement sheets/insulation……. all day long.

      • I never buy from Bunnings unless I’m price matching
Bunnings price match eBay and I never have a problem with matching
        With overseas shops too

      • There was a posting here a few weeks ago for the Ring doorbell. Maybe $170 at Good Guys or something and I was able to price match at Bunnings,

    Whats the original price?

      $400

      • +1

Is it really If it has been this price since last August?

I bought this a week ago from Bunnings Rockdale, price was $329. I believe that's the already RRP?

    • +3

      Yep, as of 23/8/17
Previous to that was $389, not $400 anyway.

      • +1

Yep, welcome to OzRRP again !! :)

  • $10 each for extra cushion

  • +1

Yea went into Bunnings last week, was this price, did not think it was a 'deal'…

  • The frame material may be an issue for some whom reside in coastal areas.

    • or those of a heavy nature

      • Don't say that around here…

    • Note the Aldi offering lists an Lightweight aluminium frame

    • Yes, noticed a bit of rust growing once I assembled it… Anyone recommend ways to prevent this? Lol

      • +1

Unfortunatly it can be a by product of the cost effective material used.
You may be able to coat the material some how, however I would imagine you will not be able to reach all of the surfaces?
Minimise the exposure to the elements.

      • Sure

Put it on a rocket and send it into space a la SpaceX Roadster 2

  • I'm waiting for the mandatory "will this fit in my 2011 Corolla hatchback" comment.

(Seriously, will this fit in a hatchback?)

    • Believe so. The box is surprisingly compact.

    • +2

The "lightweight" frame bends surprisingly easy. Don't expect to be able to assemble it though.

Looks pretty similar to the Kogan $289 set:

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/ovela-bodrum-3-piece-wicker-sof…

Only real difference is kogan has a coffee table instead of ottoman, slight dimension variances and colours.

    • You know if this is any good?

      • Sold out daddy pig

        • It's OK they wouldn't deliver to my address anyway.

    • Looks like they only ship to Sydney and Melbourne though. What a shame, as I would have bought it too!

    • The Kogan model looks better for $289 I would rather have a coffee table.

  • Thanks OP looks great in my lounge room

Apparently it’s now $288. For WA anyway.

    • Also in QLD, but stock is very low at most stores around South Bris and Logan.

  • Oops early this week spent $566 delivered on EBay 6 piece outdoor settings.should have waited :-(
    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Padang-Wicker-Rattan-Weave-Poo…

  • I had this. It's sturdy being made out of UV treated recycled plastic (for the weave/wicker look) and it's easy to clean with some outdoor wash/soap and a pressure washer/hose. The cushions are comfortable, and it's nice to have the footstool/makeshift table to put things on if need be. For the price, I'd say it's quite reasonable.
