Vitamix S30 High-Performance Blender - Apple Green - $380 Delivered (RRP $695) @ Catch

10

At this price you only get the Apple Green one, the others are $495.

I have the bigger gruntier brother of this and it can puree a brick; apparently this ones is a bit more gutless but I thought somebody might be in the market for one and this is a good price for it.

    it can puree a brick

Is it a status symbol for your kitchen/ego or do you actually believe that's necessary to blend ice cubes, fruit and ice cream?

When I do my neopolitana sauce I just chop the tomatoes in quarters and throw them in skin, seeds and all. It just blitzes everything to a lovely consistency. Also it does great smoothies, no chunks of unblended fruit, like my magimix does.

  • I got it the other day in blue. Has had a minor malfunction already when trying to grind some almonds into almond meal (not even into nut butter). If I have further problems like this I will be sending it back to catch/vitamix. When it works well it’s amazing though. I think it’s just that it doesn’t like nuts. But it shouldn’t have a problem with them considering they claim you can run the machine for 1 1/2 hours non stop on high before it overheats.

    • I just wonder just how powerful the motor is for that sort of work.

      • It seems to be working ok now. I’m not sure but it definitely claims to be more than capable of doing it.

Sometimes it can depend on how you put the nuts in the machine as well. When I do neapolitano sauce it helps to put some tomatoes in and then some basil and then more tomatoes to give the vitamix something to bite into.

This was more like a malfunction. It just went weird. It didn’t seem to struggle. It was like a bit off nut gave it the illusion that it was dry lol. I honestly cannot explain it. I just hope if it’s gonna do it again that it does it in a way that I can record it for warranty purposes.
