  Yep I bought the smart version of this kettle and it broke in about 9 months. Groupon were very good in providing a refund for it though.

      Only the lid assembly (ie the pouring spout and lid), the handle is outside the glass, the heating element is outside the glass.

  To me a "cordless kettle" would have an integrated heating element and a battery.

  You're still plugging it in to boil the water….

  Might as well call an old corded kettle cordless because you can boil the water then unplug it.

  Anyway… Whatever.

  I had a white version of it and it was very good until it died this week. Later a free years, so not bad.
