10 x 0.25w Hinge LED Sensor Light for Kitchen Cabinet Wardrobe for $6.81 via Riverstone88 eBay

110

You need to buy 10 to get them this cheap, but 0.68c each is cheaper than a previously posted deal. Otherwise they cost 0.95c shipped using the PICK5 code.

Even more discount if you buy >30 pieces (8% off subsequent items)…

But, the product has some limitations: They use expensive little batteries which are drained quickly if doors get left open. Best for use with cabinets made out of glass so people can see if they remain on.

Also, like all battery powered sensor lights, the batteries need replacement and leak if you don't change them. BUT these limitations can be removed by simply running some 12V wiring direct to each light from a 12V powerpack.

Question is which is better; one or two PIR sensors that turn on the lights in a row of cabinets (if using these or something else like strip-lights), or if using the separate sensors in each light/cabinet (like these), is desirable so each turn on and off separately.

Also, wiring to each light allows you to activate the LEDs whenever the main light circuit is live, and to simply leave them in sensor mode when the main lights are off is the best approach with glass fronted-doors.

Not bad for $6.81 plus a powerpack and some wire.

I wish they made these with AA or AAA battery type…

    • Would be a perfect use for all those eneloops!

    • Would be too big then

      • true but they would be more practical. It's much easier to find standard rechargeable batteries plus you would hardly loose any noticable space.

        • These look as they are. Any bigger wouldnt mount the same way

  • Thanks.

  • No Battery included,so you better buy the battery as well if you are buying this?

    • Yep. They aren't cheap in comparison to AA or AAA and they are smaller so they don't last as long either.

would be a royal maintenance pain to keep these with fresh batteries.

    • yes, and some last longer than others, so you would be constantly replacing one or another if you have lots of cabinets.

  • Batteries aint that expensive

    • Just got a pack at $2.9 two days ago from Bunnings but they jack it up to $4.95 now :(
      They are watching!

      • They are $2.90 now.

        • Still showing $4.95 for me. What suburb are you in?

        • Mine show $3.45. at Rocklea store (Brisbane)

Good idea but I rather it use AA battery.

  • These work great, got a couple from Gearbest they came with battery for the price, and nice and bright. Some larger hinges wont work on, gluetak worked instead, but most vanities etc worked with screw

  • Does anyone know if the work well with soft-close hinges?

    • +1

Depends on the hinge, if it is a normal hinge with a soft clase 'clip on' mechanism, they won't fit- with these it is one attachment or the other.

    • If you cant screw it on, you can blutrack or mount on the wall of the cabinet instead

  • Got mine today.
