  Wish the X came with a cooler, coupled with the $35 you have to spend on a heat sink, is the extra .4Ghz noticeable for the $80 price increase?

    No, because you can overclock the non-X to basically the same speeds. All Ryzen chips are unlocked.

    I would say no, I overclocked my 1600 with stock cooler to 3.7ghz with no problem at all. I didn't bother to try going higher but supposedly you should be able to reach 3.8 - 4.0 (if you are lucky).

    If you think it will be more convenient to just have the extra .4 ghz out the box, don't! It is SO easy to overclock yourself
