        probably rubish as it doesn't state what sensor it's using and it looks like it's using IR LEDs which could mean its terrible at night but happy to be proven wrong.

    My VIOFO A119S has brilliant picture quality at night, but the unit has just failed. Bought in October del Nov and only got 10 weeks out of it. Still boots but won't record and 1/2 screen is white noise. I think the 47 degree day we had killed it.

      My i30 reversing camera & USB to sound system failed on the day I had to park in the sun even with a car cover.
      My non car temperature gauge showed 38 Celsius inside the car at the time.

      Thankfully it was all ok after parking undercover till after dark.

      Get it replaced under warranty. Mines been through this whole summer and its fine and the car sits outside in the sun all day everyday with the camera inside

      I bought 2 dashcams with easy magnetic mount. I take them off everyday to avoid this problem. However the fixed cameras in my car - the lane keeping assist camera and the rearview camera seem unfazed by the temperatures which have been pretty extreme the last few days. I think its more than just a capacitor vs battery thing.

    Looks like there could be multiple model of this with different innards. Seen "Mjpeg", Mov (usually mpeg-4) and this one states "avi" yet it's h.264. Show us a direct video file from it at day and night before it's considered. No YT uploads etc.
