The head is quite good if you have carpet and pets or people with long hair.
And has swivel handle, better filter, the head is great.
Classic back to uni item. Can't forget your textbooks and your vacuum cleaner.
The deal is for cleaning staff at universities.
Cat&dog vs normal complete family for a carpeted apartment. Is the extra need worth it?
yes,it is.
I'm in the same 'predicament'. Bought the Cat&dog anyway
In the BingLee product description, it says 2 turbo brushes are included, which is worth the extra $110 (vs normal) hopefully?
Turbobrush STB 205-3: Yes
Hand turbobrush STB 101: Yes
Not sure how good is their claim about the Turbo brush, I like the claim about not sticking to the carpet:
Carpets must be vacuumed regularly even if no surface soiling is visible. Carpets must be brushed and vacuumed at the same time so that even deeply embedded dust and lint are reliably removed. The roller brush of the Miele turbobrush, which is powered by the suction system, removes dirt effectively from your carpets.
Features:
-Rejuvenate the carpets
-For quick removal of hair and lint thanks to the powerful beater bar
-No longer sticks to carpets thanks to the air valve
Also, comments on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/270111 helps
Yup I think the extra is worth it for the turbo head.
Especially since it picks up hairs with ease and having two girls in the family, its a must.
Got a Miele almost 10 years ago, it's stood the test of time very well.
It's well made, runs well, sturdy and slightly rugged.
Runs today as well as it did when it came from the box.
Easy to use.
Seems like a straight forward no bullshit vacuum cleaner made the old fashioned way (to last!).
If anything we to happen to it i'd consider repairing first, spares are fairly common on eBay.
Else based on experience with this i'd buy another.
They're not flashy or fancy like some others, they just do what they're made for, and do it well.
It's one of the rare products these days i feel was good value for money.

Pretty much sums it up. The C3 we bought last year is refreshingly similar to the S500 purchased 15 years prior (which is still going strong but has been relegated to dirtier jobs like the garage). There have been some improvements such as reduced noise, but nothing that feels gimmicky.
When buying a Miele vac, I recommend going for the higher-end models, because you'll probably have it for a long time, and the extra luxuries (e.g. the "comfort handle") can be worth it when averaged over 10+ years of use…
I bought a complete during the last sale and rather than buy the authentic turbo brush for $179 I grabbed a non genuine one for $25 delivered on eBay. For the price I’m quite happy with it.The miele’s strong auction spins the brushes at a great speed. It’s called clean up turbo brush and it fits various brands.
I've had this model for a couple of years, very effective and reliable.
Great price! I paid $375 a few weeks ago using one of the 20% off deals and thought that was a good deal.
I got this vac cause the dyson died
Things I like so far:
It so quiet compared to the dyson, so much that I thought that the suction wasnt as good. Then i checked by putting my hand in the nozzle and its more powerful.
Bagless sucks, who thought this was a better idea than a bag. Bagless holds less, you need to go outside to empty, you get dirt all over trying to get it all in the bag. Feel like some sort of savage trying to empty the dyson.
Miele attachments feel a lot sturdier than dyson equivalent. Evident with my handstick dyson the motor contacts are not making solid connection where the stick meets the floor head and cuts out occasionally.

Might get some hate for this, but.. cheapskates?
OK, I have heard some defenders of bagless argue "it's not that big a deal", but invariably it's from people who's used bagless all their lives and are used to it or haven't seen first hand the convenience of bagged. The ones who switched from bagless to bagged always comment that the bagged is much better (myself one of them).
What is certain is that the biggest and probably only argument for bagless is the lack of consumable cost. It's not that expensive in reality though for how long a bag lasts. It just seems expensive compared to $0.
But then the cost of bagless equivalent is like a couple hundred or more $.
That buys many many bags
It's mainly just good marketing from Dyson that's pushed bagless so far. My family was convinced that Dyson bagless were superior until I bought them the C3 and now they're converted.
They're clearly very good at marketing. They have a $600 hairdryer with the gimmick of bladeless fan, that costs more than most vacuum cleaners.
Same here. They felt like bagged was a step backwards, turns out it’s the opposite.
I’ve only used Dyson since getting a dog and I find that I am emptying the bin every two rooms (carpeted). What’s the Miele bag equivalent in terms if number of Dyson (stick) canisters? I’m assuming the Miele compresses the dust more and I’m not going to be replacing the bag every time I vacuum?
.3L dyson v8
5L Miele
@phocus: Not just that. The dyson doesn't compress the dust. If you measure it in KG, the difference is even bigger.
Bought this a couple of months ago as a replacement for our Dyson. Amazed at how much better this vacuum is - very happy with the purchase.
Seems like Bing Lee dliver to Perth Metro now? Site now says
Excludes: QLD Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote, PO Box
Is the Cat & Dog model suitable for both hard floors and carpets or would I need to buy an attachment to do hard floors? 1/2 of my house is hard timber floor and the other 1/2 is carpet.
There is a black hardwood model.
There is a regular head and also the turbo head.
So the regular head will work on hard floors and the turbo head on carpets?
Correct. Regular head will also work for carpet, it just doesnt have the spinning brushes.
It also comes with a small turbo head for cars
@phocus: So no need to buy a separate head for doing hard floors? I have read that some people have bought this separately when buying this vac.
@Rodo: I think there is a specialised hard floor one. Not sure the difference tho
Might be wider and maybe softer brush maybe
@phocus: Thanks for all your help. I ended up ringing Miele customer care. It comes with a universal head which is suitable for both hard floor and carpets. It also comes with 2 turbo brushes for carpet. You are correct, the hard floor head that you can buy separately is wider and is supposed to do a better/quicker job on hard floors but the universal is fine for hard floors. The person i spoke to said they have the hard floor head accessory but just use the universal head on their hard floor as it does a good job.
Yea I cant imagine how much better the head could be over the universal one. I been using the universal one on my tiles and I'm don't end up wanting something better
Has much longer bristles. Great for tiled, slate, stone floors.
I like the hard floor head as I find it easier to use.
My last universal head had a wheel roller and metal base which made it heavier and slower to use compared to the hard floor attachment which rests on bristles
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/miele-sbb-300-3-hard-floor-tw…
That is expensive. $119? I would recommend sticking with the universal head.
There’s also the mini turbo head , which is included with this model.
Ours is 10 years going strong and has outlasted every Dyson our family members have owned. The Turbo head is great for carpets and hair. However, if you have a lot of long hair from humans/pets, these things head clog up daily. Had to go back to the normal head, and use the Turbo for special occasions.
If I see fibers on the carpet, I remove the turbo head and suck them up with just the tube before replacing the turbo head.
Super easy to fix. Use some scissors and cut all hairs. Then turn on the vac and let it suck it up. Repeat of nessesary
The turbo brush is going to be noisy. I would take without turbo brush, save money and then get an additional universal turbo brush from Ebay for around $30. The good thing is that this vac is very quiet on low speed and suction is very good.

Seen this posted many times and never been overly thrilled with my Dyson bagless so I’ve finally capitulated and bought this - thanks OP - great price.
Ooh, you won't be disappointed. If the thing that bothered you was frequently needing to empty the dyson, this bag should last you 3-6 months depending on your home conditions. My first bag was about 11 months, though I should have replaced it sooner. I just wanted to maximize the bag, but that's not recommended.
This is also the cheapest price I recall it ever being.
I have a cleaner in to clean my house regularly. For the 6 months I had both a DC37 and the Cat & Dog, I had them both next to each other, and let them choose which vac they want to use. I don't say anything. But each time it was a different cleaner, and they always went for the Miele. No one used the Dyson. I figure the reason is, if you're using osmeone else's vac, it's more convenient to use the bagged one than have to empty it yourself. You're not paying for the bags anyway.
Then I gave away the Dyson, but they told me it stopped working not long after.
Are these still made in Germany?
The C3 models are.
We bought this a couple of years ago at a similar price. Been very happy with it - hoping it will last 10+ years!!
The normal c3 is 240… This just has an extra head which most won't need
