No stores can be found in WA.

      • Haha just realised. did they never had stores in WA?

        • May be able to get free shipping to WA if spend > $99

        • They did, all closed down a bit over a year ago now. Shame as items I've wanted have come on sale since and would have been great c&c but the shipping to WA killed it for the odd item I wanted.

  • In my humble opinion 40L is a very awkward size for a trekking backpack. For day walks, ie walks that can be done in around 3-6 hours, a 20L backpack would suffice. If you plan to walk and camp, then a backpack of 50L to 70L would be required to stuff all your equipment. It is probably okay for a big backpack in daily/travelling in car environment, but I still maintain that the size is too big and it looks too outdoorsy.

I have not researched this particular backpack so I am not commenting with respect to its quality.

Not necessarily, if you plan and pack correctly then this size is sufficient to pack all items. A smaller pack is beneficial in terms of weight savings and also moves the centre of gravity closer to the body.

The quality of the materials sure seems good. I agree the size is a bit small for proper over night hiking, and it's a bit big for a day hike. It would be good for someone as part of say a family going hiking where there already bigger packs for the bulky things on an overnight.

However my experience with family members is an adjustable harness length (sometimes called torso length) is pretty essential for over night pack. I have an assortment of packs around 40L and the 'waist' strap is always around my belly as I have a long back. And my little ones often find them too low and waist strap wont tighten enough to hold on to them.

All that said. I have 4 packs in my house around the 40L mark and I do find them a great size when day hiking / trips to city with kids as they always have extra jumpers and the like. We use 100 gram super light weight packs for them with just minimals in and we carry the rest in a 40L day pack.

So if you are like us and need a 40L pack - this is a great price for a quality built pack.
