    Thats going to be Smurftastic.

it was a great game before the masters started new accounts to destroy the casual players.

    • Unfortunately I agree. I am pretty crap at the game but found it a great way to blow off some steam. After getting to level 100 I felt I could hold my own in most games. After a break I played a few games recently and wasn't even close to holding my own against people less than level 10. Maybe some come from PC so have the experience under their belts but it was just all too common. If I were a Newb I reckon I would just get turned off and play something else. Surely this destroys the player base and eventually the game folds so why do people do it?
Anyway I am playing Fortnite now. Man am I crap at that game but still love the tension of looking over my shoulder as I search for loot, finding an epic weapon, and then getting shot as I failed at looking over my shoulder …

      • I also moved to Fortnite, I didn't think i would like it cause i'm not the camping type but i love it. I watched the twitch pro's play and learnt ways of dealing with the fort campers and I landed at Tilted Towers for days learning how to kill. (PC)

    • You need to be 25 to join comp.

      • Yes - I was talking free play - I think the Comp matches people and levels better but I am not sure. But as a newb playing free play to get to level 25 - I don't know if I could handle it. I still think its a great game, just don't see why you would smurf … each to their own.

Oh I thought he was complaining about smurfs. And people only care about smurfs when it's in comp. I didn't think people cared about freeplay?

Thought people go freeplay to practise new strategies and characters, or generally mess around.

        • @Blitzfx:
I was playing a few times last week in free play and those level 5's and 9's had exceptional skill levels - not sure how common it is but 3 in 3 nights I probbaly played over 30 games and found the same thing - didn't really care but if I was a Newb it would be off putting imo

        • @TriggerHappy:
I feel it goes both ways. When I started, I had a full smurf team and we rolled the other team like it was nothing.
Feels better than being stomped and getting camped on the spawn room.

        • @TriggerHappy:

I started playing Overwatch a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had issues with the climb to level 25. I was under the impression that most people expect to be stomped when they're learning a new game, so it's not off-putting at all.

        • @FrostySocks:
That's actually good to hear. When I first starting playing (a year ago?) it just seemed easier than it seems now - there were a lot of Newbs like me and only occasionally did we get shutdown - maybe I was just lucky? Mind its very satisfying when you are stuck on a Spawn place and manage to take out an opponnet who is clearly more skilled than you :) "It's high noon somewhere in the world".

    • In OCE, barely any masters/GM's play. I'm a GM and get half an hour of queue to match with plats or I get moved to an NA server.

We end up playing with casual players anyway.

    • Tried playing last night with a friend. Did quickplay because our ranks are too low for anything else.

We got destroyed. Match after match.

We were lucky to have team mates in double digits yet our opponents were well into their 50's etc.

Unfortunately when you are getting camped in the starting area most games it kinda puts a dampener on things.

    Attack begins in thirty seconds

  • so does this mean you can download the game free and then can play after the free weekend? / keep the game?

    • +1

You can play for the duration of the free weekend i.e. 20 Feb. Sometimes you might get 1-2 days extra out of it though

  • okay thanks :) ill stick to cs go

  • Is there a way to download it before the free weekend to be ready? Otherwise it might take me a day to download over my crappy connection.

    • Not sure but you do need an active xbox live or playstation network subscription in order to play (if you didn't already know). Apparently on a PC "you just need to download the battle.net program"

Funny - my first computer was a System 80 from Dick Smith with software (such as Frogger, Eliminator, Penetrator, ..) coming on cassette tapes. We used to put the tape in, type "Run", then go outside and kick a football around for 15 minutes whilst the program loaded. Now we have a PS4 with software on a DVD. We put the new game in, press "X", then come back tomorrow after the updated game has been installed. :)

      • Cheers. Sorry should have mentioned I'm on a PC. I logged into Blizard but seemed to want me to purchase. Guess I'll need to log in on the first day and download and install. Will just mean will have less time to try it while it's free.

I think games like PUBG/Fortnite/CS Go have killed this game.

    • Overwatch came out years after csgo… Community is still vibrant

  • They usually discount the game alongside these, yes?

    • +1

      looks like ur right

  • Option to pre load ??

  • I'm only seeing Rainbow 6 siege and nba2k as free play on xbox one.

Edit: Followed instructions on deal link and now have the trial
