I bought one of these sets a while back for around $75. This is the cheapest I’ve seen them and they’re actually really good quality for the money!

    I think the 5 piece Aldi ratchet spanner set I bought a couple of years ago was $20. So $4/spanner as opposed to $5.40/spanner.
    Quality seems okay too, though I haven't used them all that much. I don't rate Stanely tools for quality, so I'd go the Aldi ones if available, but that's personal choice (and depends on whether you need 12 sizes or not).

      It also depends largely on availability, as this set is current, whereas the Aldi set may never be obtainable again.

        Never? The Aldi ratchet spanners come up twice a year minimum.

          I couldn't seem to find anything on OzBargain of the last time they were on sale.

          Okay, I'll be sure to check the Aldi catalogue every week in hopes that it returns, instead of buying a set available to me right now.

          Yeah sure, buy these, not saying don't. Just that the Aldi ones come up quite regularly, not "maybe never obtainable again". AFAIK the Aldi set are either $20 or $30 (can't remember exactly), but there's less in them.

    • If I recall the Aldi spanners had uncommon sizes!.

      They did not have 10mm or 12mm or something like that.

      For the Stanley this price is really good, I bought a set a year or two ago at $75.

    • I know Stanley have dropped quality a littler over the years, but comparing to Aldi spanners? I don't think we are quite there yet ;).

      • Aldi tools are hit and miss, some are terrible while others are quite good. These ones were the latter.

        I've got both Stanley and Aldi tools in my garage (along with Ryobi, Bosch, AEG, Ozito, Black and Decker, and many more), so I can give a first hand (subjective) opinion on the quality. I wonder if that's also the case for people who down voted my comment.

    Bunnings have this 12 piece set (a mix of SAE and Metric) for $99, so yours (straight Metric) for $61 is a very good price.

  • Good deal for the ratchet set, I paid 99 at least sale and thought it was cheap.
