a lot of it is clothes with high margins, some are they home brand and some are franchised brands with the 3rd part offering discounts.
It's easier to sell clothes, homeware, etc at a large discount than tech goods, etc.
They use to have more of these sales (years and years ago), not just further 50% off, but 75% and 90% off. Got a $100 dress for $10 :D
Or a $10 dress marked up to $100 then down to $10 again.
Possibly, but considering the un-basic design, fit, material and cut, it's definitely not Kmart style or quality.

Damn it! Why does Myer site tell you that an item is in (limited) stock and then show you that it's out of stock AFTER you've paid for the item? And the item is still showing limited stock on their site. Can't stand Myer anymore!
Try using delivery option.
I did. The pay even went though, but in the last page where you see your order number the item was showing out of stock, not sure if my purchase of that item was the very last one. I've received the PayPal email, but haven't got the Myer confirmation email yet.
I had the same thing happen with the last 50% off reduced items deal.
The other items have all shipped but I've had no communication about the ones they were showing 'out of stock yet.
@coffeed: Damn! Sorry to hear that, mate. I bought a Van Heusen suit (both the jacket and pants) and the jacket was out of stock right after I completed my purchase, whereas the pants were in limited stock, so I was convinced that they would tell me good luck. I was really shocked when I received the dispatch email. Hopefully they will fit.

My orders so far all got cancelled 2 to 3 days after everythings went through. So I don't bother anymore….
If you buy something full price your order will go through. It's their moneymaking "Cancellations"

Why can't I refine by gender? Why do I have to go through pages of women's tops and bottoms? I do not need to be educated in the field of lingerie and bras
LOL! I had to go to the 'Brand' section on the left bar and pick the brands I knew listed men's clothes to avoid all the women's stuff. The other shitty problem with that is whenever you tick one brand, the page auto-refreshes and you have to scroll down to tick another brand and so on.
If you access the site via mobile, you can select brands without it refreshing
Whoever designed Myer's website should be shot.
Probably the David Jones web page designer I imagine.
They are convinced that online is a passing fad and are determined to show you why.

Username checks out
There's a way to get all sale items to show up by gender (30%, 40%, 50%, etc). Under the 'Sale' tab choose 'Men' under the 'Final Markdowns'. You'll then have the options to also choose a sub category:
- Clothing
- Accessories
- Footwear
- Underwear & Sleepwear

That’s illegal now. All fashions and accessories must be listed in an androgynous format.
Similar to the problem the Dept of Corrections has when trying to decide whether to allocate Salim Mehajer to a male or female prison.

Myer has the worst website to browse items, can't even sort by Male or Female.
No wonder they're going out of business.
Also if you sort by size, for example, size 30, it will show items that is out of stock with size 30. Logic…..
Forget about Amazon, Myer can't even withstand a young upstart like Kogan!

it's an Australian politically correct thing, they chop of the victorias' secret models head so they don't need to worry about ethnic background issues … e.g why no indigenous females modeling victorias' secrets,
The Chinese already voiced their concerns about Victorias' secretes models not having a chinese flavour to them.
A bit like the riots at H&M in the UK where the black kid was modelling a hoodie with "the smartest monkey in the tree" if he was white wouldn't have been an issue, but then the complaint of no back models.

i think you read my post wrongly, its MYERS not showing the face. Victoria secret shows the whole model including face!
And yes Victoria's Secret does have Chinese models now, just not overly represented, but I think this will evolve as they try to penetrate the Chinese market. :D

For some reason, the anniversary codes aren't stacking up for me. Total cart was $102.50 before the discount code and when I add in the discount code, the individual item price changes and the total price is still $102.50. Go figure.
Agree - doesn't exactly stack correctly. Looks as though the ANNIVERSARY20 ($20) is also reduced by 50% to $10. A $260 item came up as $130 in the cart, but when ANNIVERSARY20 was added the total changes to to $120 for me.
Just FYI on some items the ANNIVERSARY codes break discounts on some items and makes the total higher.
Who the h$&l responsible on Myer website?? Seems similar problem with David Jones web.
If out of stock don’t show it to us. We don’t need it, can’t buy it!! Make us wasting more time online. In the end we had enough, then quit buying anything from its website.

They're not crazy cheap but it worked out to a little over $100 all up when applying ANNIVERSARY20 and I've wanted these or similar from these brands for a while now.

What a waste of a site. Every-time I browse something, it just wants me to buy lingerie. I scroll about 7 to 8 pages of lingerie and end up abandoning my search. Start again after 30 mins, repeat the same process…. and on it goes until the sale ends. Sigh.

Just ordered $160 dollars worth of stuff (Had to go through 68 pages to check everything because of their terrible filtering system) But when I put in the ANNIVERSARY20 code the price went up $100.
It seems to have knocked off the 50% discount and applied a 20% discount.
ANNIVERSARY20 gave me $10 discount last night. They must have changed it today, I think.

I bought a bunch of items; I’ve only received a refund for one item but I’ve received 5 separate packages from Myer they’re posting each item individually. It’s not costing me anything as delivery was free with my $100+ order but it’s very bad for the environment… not to mention their bottom line.
