If you have no daughters, give them to your sons

    • Is that a pun, about a hot cross bun?

  • +7

They should learn to stop making them so early before Easter so they don't have to give them away.
    Decent freebie though.

I can't tell if this is a serious comment

Back in the good old days, when everyone on the web was intelligent; there was no ambiguity between irony and incompetence, and jokes were universally appreciated.

        • Flat Earthers: real or trolls? You decide!

        • You won't believe what happens next…

They used to be one-a-penny, two-a-penny!

    • Next week mince pies will be on sale.

Sounds like an unplanned Ozbargain meet

  • Is it 1 hot cross bun or a packet

You can always get a free hot cross bun from bakers delight if you just grab a handful of the samples.

Some years ago I had low blood sugar as I walked past a Brumby's and helped myself to the complimentary muffin shrapnel. I was given such a look of disdain when I declined to purchase this muffin after generously faking a "hmm, not bad" that I shuffle faster past the store to this day.

Don't be ashamed of being cheap, it's OzBargains life blood!

      • In Korean bakeries there are samples set out across the shop. I used to pop in before work for a quick wander and forage to keep me going until lunch.

Korea was an ozBargainers dream! Milk at the supermarkets would often have a couple of yogurts or yakults taped to them, most products were BOGOF… I think I only ever bought things that came with an offer.

That's a lot of buns in the oven.

Why would I waste my time and energy and petrol to go get something worth about fifty cents. No deal.

Because u don’t seems to mind to waste ur time to post such comment when the deal is not for u? :)

Is it just me or has the quality gone down hill? I used to love getting them from bakers delight and didn't mind paying the premium over the supermarkets. I bought half a dozen the other day from bakers delight and found the product to be inferior to the much cheaper product from coles/woolworths.

    • The supermarkets have stepped up their got cross bun game, the ones at Coles are pretty good.

      • +1

I like Woolies ones, Mocha and the new brioche versions are good too :)

  • Can I get one without the cross?

    • +1

      We miss you.

  • Are they giving away chocolate ones? Or just fruit?

    • Can choose from traditional fruit, apple and cinamon, choc

      • -1

I think chocolate chip wasn't one of the free options

        • Oh interesting… The girl gave me those three options when i got my free one today. Maybe she made a mistake lol.

Am I the only one who thinks all Baker's Delight products tastes more or less the same + slight alteration. e.g. cinnamon in hot cross bun, a bit of icing for a finger bun.

Full disclosure: I have a basic palate.

    • No, you're pretty much correct. All the sweet stuff is quite similar. Just like food porn dishes.

      Full disclosure: We're food bloggers.

But we eat with our eyes.

Full Disclosure: I use a seeing eye dog.

        • So cute!! Please share pictures of your dog :)

  • Its free today at Metcentre bakers delight in Wynyard. Im assuming cos they dont open on saturday. Go go go!

Mount Barker store told me “free bun only with a purchase”.
I had to remind them of their advert and eventually got one. Pity the bun had a sour taste!

  • Noranda gave me mine but no choice of flavour. Apple and Cinnamon only.

  • Only the traditional are free not the apple & cinnamon or chocolate ones, as me and my girls just got one each!

  • North perth WA only traditional are free, there yummy!!!

If you got a bakers delight calendar the special in March is if you buy a 6 pack of hot cross buns you get a free white block!!

  • I noticed that at Dianella Woolworths the other day kids can get a cookie in addition a piece of fruit free whilst parent is shopping.

  • Was a pain for me & left empty handed. I battled the Saturday Westfield parking, waited in long bakery queue to find they ran out & had to wait for the next batch to be made.

Costco is way less trouble and has better stuff.

  • No issues at Mill Park (Rivergum shops), girl out the front with a tray full of original, chocolate and apple & cinnamon.

Got one for myself and son then went next door to Woolies and bought one of their $1.80 loaves of bread.

I got a six-pack of the apple & cinnamon, and a six-pack of the chocolate ones for FREE because the store at Albion Park had a tonne left and they told me to please take them!

  • Picked up 5 just now in Glebe, just happened to walk past and remembered this deal!

    • How can you get 5 when it supposes to be only 1 per person?

      • There were four of us, and it seems they gave us an extra.
