If you missed it, Space X launched their Heavy Falcon this morning and it was amazing.
There is a Tesla orbiting Earth right now

yes right now :)
He died in 1943 though.

That’s great.
I'm still a little salty I missed the actual livestream.. I guess I have to settle with the YouTube video :(
Thanks.
It's going to be up there for a billion years. What's the depreciation on that?
Actually, they missed the Mars orbit trajectory. Elon Tweeted that the projected path is the Asteroid belt

Fasten your 'asteroid' belt, because it's going to be a bumpy, rocky ride.
great, so when you drive in space the steering wheel will be on the left.

I thought it was a superb launch, a success despite losing the centre booster.
Humanity now has a proper Mars launch system, makes me feel like the future is coming up fast!
Also, there is a Tesla Roadster in orbit right now!

Lets hope the Tesla makes it to Mars!
You'll love this: https://youtu.be/aBr2kKAHN6M. Quite surreal to just leave it running on a big screen. Cuts over to other stuff occasionally.
Shame we don't get the view all the way to the asteroid belt (12 hour batteries - Eneloop shortage apparently).
@D C: Awesome, thanks! Quite eerie, almost seems unreal.
Be interesting to see how long the paint will last in the direct sunlight. Red paint fades fast!
All the interior stuff seems to be holding up well considering its going through +/-100deg C as it rotates through the light and shade!
That synchronized booster landing though is what takes the cake.
And then you realize that these boosters are taller than the statue of liberty. here's a photo of one of these booster rockets with a human for scale. These things just returned from sub-orbital trajectory and gracefully landed on the launchpads with pinpoint precision.
