The recharge system used with Kogan vouchers is frustrating. If you recharge before your current credit is set to expire, you lose any remaining days/months on the account. I called up after recharging for another year with three months remaining on my account. I assumed this would bring my account up to one year and three months credit. Instead, I lost the three month balance and had to call Kogan to see what they could do. The customer service phone rep said he would refund me for those three months but only because I didn't know that is how the vouchers worked. Not sure if I will get the partial refund in the future as they may make a note on my file.

Bottom line, you must recharge on the LAST day of your previous credit to avoid the annoyance of refunds and calls to Kogan. The expiry dates for recharge vouchers make for a somewhat interesting bargain hunting game.

    • If your 365 plan expires and there are no deals from kogan, just port over to PAYG from another provider and port back when kogan offers a good deal.

    • somehow the customer service phone rep didn't understand what i was on about so he cancelled my 1 year voucher and then refunded me for the voucher, but the money never turned up and they couldn't chase it up, they said to contact kogan.com team for the refund and kogan.com team said contact kogan mobile for the refund so i gave up. i think email is the best way to get your refund back

    • Or you can recharge AFTER your previous credit expires (the next day) to save extra one day's credit. :)

  • Currently my wife and I are with ALDI mobile prepaid 365 day pack until 20th of Feb.
I wanted to purchase 2 of the sim cards for the Kogan Mobile UNL 32GB (First Month Only) $7.90 to become "existing customers" and then buy 2 of the '23GB Extra Large 365 Day Plan $315.10' plans.
Kogan system is only letting me add one of the plans to the online shopping cart.
Do I purchase one first, checkout and then do another later ?
Or do I have to create a whole new Kogan shopping account to buy just another sim ?

Same thing happened last year when I was purchasing vouchers for me and my wife. I just had to buy them in separate transactions, no big deal. Didn't need to set up another account.

    • From memory it's one per household, I got the same message when I did it

    • Correct. I purchased the Large Data $7.90 special deal first then bought the Large 365day deal after in separate transactions.

  • +2

I'm already a Kogan customer but I believe the new customer can get this deal too. No need to buy Kogan Mobile UNL 32GB $7.90 deal. They are sending a new free SIM card. Copy paste from the received email.

        • +1

Yes, i tried activate brand new sim card with voucher
          No work

        • @XucCac: Thanks for letting us know. Bought a $8 sim to activate later so I can then use the yearly voucher.

  • all kogan gift cards $50 sold out

    • OMG, bought 1 and need to buy 1 more :(

    • Yeah man. I was also looking but couldn't find any.

My son stated on the Kogan Prepaid for 12 months 10gb plan ($240 for the year maybe) and they have increased it a few times and he is now on 16gb per month.

    Not bad.

  • I wonder what Vodafone reception is like on the Mornington Peninsula or train. Telstra is atrocious on the train to the city.

    • It’s probably better

    • +1

You could buy an $2 starter sim to see how the reception is on your phone or get the $8 starter pack which has 32GB to try out calling and data :)

    • Don't know about Train but there is coverage on the Peninsula. Make sure your phone has LTE Bands 5 and 8. It does drop down to 3G occasionally though.

  • Will the Voucher code for the 365 day plan sent to my email immediately after purchase or by post.. Can anyone plz tell me as i’m Going overseas next week so I can’t collect the item if i’m Away..

Email. I got the email with the voucher within 10 minutes of making the order.

  • Anyone have a Kogan $30 + $20 voucher to sell, it seems the ebay ones have almost doubled in price?! :(

    • +1

You can attribute that to ozbargain, I bought mine for $7 only a few days ago.

      • Haha true, All good just purchased one from EasternCulture via classifieds! xD

    • u can buy them from ebay again but it is now $12.95

  • Thanks for the info zag..

  • Waiting for the $60 voucher to arrive.. Then i’ll Do purchase so I can save some money..

    • Where did you get yours from?

      • Check OzBargain classifieds, they are selling for a reasonable price.

    • Did it except the $60 voucher?

  • Does this come with voLTE/HD voice? Do other Vodafone resellers come with that? Could someone please lobby them to add it?

    • Nope, it's excluded.

      • -1

Is there any idea of when it will be added?

  • So without the gift card, this deal is good or no good?

Approx. $21 per month for 16GB worth.

Perhaps still be better jumping around … $5 this month, $5 next month and so on.

  • From Ebay $15 voucher

  • $14.99 Kogan Voucher

  • i brought $50 voucher for 14.90 from ozsale247 on ebay, anyone brought it from click.frenzy currenly on sale for 11.99…? it seems price drop to $12 mark

    • +2

I bought one from click.frenzy yesterday. Received the codes in less than an hour and it worked. I paid in the total of $9 for the 30$ and $20 voucher. He sent two different codes.

You can buy from easternCulture, at the same price $12. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/356324

      • +1

click.frenzy have other voucher for domino aswell…

      • Got got 8 today

can i buy 2, one for me and one for wife and transfer our optus mobile numbers over ?

  • Call me stupid, but why does it come with a free sim card if it's for existing customers only?!

    • You can't buy kogan sim from local store. They want you to refer others and use your new sim without waiting for delivery.

  • Hi, I just wonder how you guys enter the kogan $50 voucher code while after buying the new one, kogan will also email voucher code if we want to activate the sim? Sorry just a bit confused where I can type in the kogan $50 voucher code. Thanks

    • On checkout you will have option to pay with voucher, you add $30 then $20 then pay rest with paypal or bank!

  • apologies if I'm being dumb but I want to buy the small plan for my son and it says 'sold out'
Is this likely to change soon or should I look elsewhere?

  • it seems they add more data to keep those high price going and it doesn't have any benefits on people who doesn't require data or low data

    • The 2GB unlimited talk and text deal is great. I purchased it, and with the $50 off coupon and $10 referral credit it costs $8.60aud per month. Great deal if you ask me!

      • looking at the deals from other telcos 10GB over $15+ per month while Kogan seems to be best.

  • In how many days I will receive the Voucher pin From Kogan? I just brought 16gb 365 days pack. Is the voucher code sent by email or by post..? Can anyone plz tell me.. Thanks in advance

    • By email

      • After how much time of buying you’ll receive email

  • +1

wtf is 2G sold out so fast

    • Yeah exactly.
Well Jenee can have my custom now.

  • Quick question, so if I buy 23Gb 90 day plan and put the $50 voucher in there and $10 referral so it'll be just 95.7-50-10= 35.7?

Also, can I stack the 90 day plan?

    • Minimum $120 spend for $50 credit. So only $10 referral will work.

      • Won't it work if I stack?

        • +2

You can't stack, you will need to wait till your plan expires in 90 days to recharge but then the voucher would have expired.

        • +1

@rzrz: Thanks. Lebara Large Plan seems better then! I prefer data over calling.

  • still waiting for refund!, never again with this mob, they are great until you have a problem, go beat your head against a wall.

    • What problem did you have?

      • I don't know about Polak, but I got the 23gb, then after 5gb used they started shaping my traffic. Before I had 30mbps/phone and 15mbps/tethering. Now I have 20mbps/phone and 10kpbs (yeah, that's right 10Kbps) for tethering. I tried contact, but no answer for my email and by the phone they say they don't do that. But, I can prove it because tethering to another android is ok, the problem is when I try to use the data in my laptop or xbox without making use of a VPN. Pure traffic shaping. I'm considering ask for a refund

  • +1

Thanks OP. Just purchased 16GB Large 365 Day Plan. Worked out to $190.30 incl. Small fee for the $50 off $120 vouchers + referral bonus.

  • Question A: Is this correct for maximum savings?

    I'm a new customer so:
    1. Buy $7.90 one month deal with 32GB
    2. Go to eBay and get $50 in kogan vouchers
    3. Use $50 in kogan vouchers and purchase 365 day plan

Question B: How do I get the $10 referral credit? At what point can I/should I use this credit?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

    • +1

When you are ready to purchase, click through the referral link to get the $10 credit.

  • Just curious, how come when I go to kogan website, the prices are all full prices but when I click on the link, its the discounted price??

also a warning to others, if you are using gift cards/vouchers, I noticed that after I applied the $30 and $20 codes, it took the full value of hte gift cards and the code value was reduced

so if you are using a gift card with a big credit leftover, you might end up wasting your voucher or part of it

    • I received this offer via email

  • Any experience porting from Vodafone to Kogan?
They both on Voda network, I'm curious if there will be porting issue.
I had issue in the past porting from one of Optus reseller to Optus.

    • I would avoid doing that, as porting like this is done manually by a person.

It has happened to me that, people with Vodafone numbers are not able to call me after the port (apparently Vodafone system still thinks I am with them, as the porting was not done correctly manually).

  • Any ideas if the 2GB deal will be starting to be permanently sold out from this point forward?

A lot of us joined last year and this is around the 1 year mark, so I'm thinking that the game is up. I don't use much data or call on my kogan sim, so I think I'll be moving it across to Amaysim or another cheap provider. Apparently Moose mobile is ultra cheap if you are just sending bulk sms monthly and comes with 200 mins and 500mb of data for $8.

Jeenee mobile also looks good and is somewhere in between, i.e. the typical sweet spot.

Pennytel mobile is back apparently, but looks like pretty poor value compared to their old plans.

Anyway, this is just for my sim I use for mobile banking; I need something that is recurring to receive sms. In the past I used prepaid, but occasionally forgot to topup, causing a headache and having the number quarantined. At worst, does the kogan plan just renew itself automatically for 1 month at a time?

I like to plan ahead these days.

  • Do the $50 dollar vouchers, keep stacking?

Can i buy several $50 vouchers and use them in one transaction?

    • +1

No you can't stack more than one $20 & one $30 voucher per transaction.

  • Guys, be careful if you are going to get this offer thinking of tethering/hotspots. They do traffic shaping. I got the 23gb offer. At the beginning it was perfect. I had 30Mbps on my phone and 15Mbps for tethering. Now, after have used 5gb they shaped to 20Mpbs/phone and ridiculous 10Kbps for tethering. The customer service in nonexistent. Considering asking for a refund.

  • Wife and I have the 6GB plans, but for some reason wife has 7GB! These are plans purchased a year ago. This deal is great, wifes plan is due to expire in mid March.

    • Just bought 2 x $50 off vouchers from Ebay for $10.99 each, and the seller added a $10 referral code as well, but I won't recommend them as they just jacked their price to $13.99.

So I just got 2 x 6GB for the entire year for $205.60-$30-$20-$10= $145.60 = $12.13 per month each. I used to pay nearly double per month for a landline and no data, plus pay for calls!

      • Actually 156.59. adding the voucher cost.

        • -1

You're correcting my maths a week later? Cheers for that. Wanna do my taxes this year?

        • +1

          @Tony76: Hostile much?

        • +1
      • can we use old number on new account which is created solely for this deal(10$ referral deal)??

  • Great deal and great post with all the info and voucher dates etc!

  • Anyone know if you can recharge using the voucher codes from overseas?

    Reason is:

    1. I'll be overseas at 30 April.
    2. My current 365 day voucher is due to expire on 23 May, so I dont want to renew earlier than 30 April.
    3. I'd rather forgo 3 weeks of the old voucher to ensure I get the 40% off deal.

Anyone able to confirm recharging from abroad?

  • whoa, you forget how much deals get better a year later.

Last year bought the 14gb per mth, 365 day plan for my brother for $370, that was with 30% off.

Question, does the recharge overlap the current charge or does it add on?

    • overlaps.

  • can we use this with new kogan account?(Kogan customer) want to use referral 10$ which comes with new account..

  • I vaguely recall seeing somewhere that you can't use the $30 vouchers with the 365 day small plan. Is that correct?

  • Update alert .. this deal is still available .. "Valid for existing Kogan Mobile customers. Personal use only. Discounts available on Kogan Mobile Prepaid MEDIUM, LARGE and EXTRA LARGE 365 day plans and LARGE and EXTRA LARGE 90 day plans, including recharges, purchased before 11:59pm AEDT 31/01/2019 unless sold out prior or extended" … at … https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…

    • and also

Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 28/02/2019.

    • LOL looks like this is the new normal price.

      • Yeah looks like the new normal price now lol

  • Hi, I was using the EXTRA LARGE 23GB 365 plan for the last year and my plan expired yesterday. (they only gave me 1 day notice of my prepaid expiring) does that mean I can purchase this deal and still activate it at the discounted rate or do I have to buy the full priced one since its one day out?

Any help would be fantastic thanks.
