      GTA V steam version iirc allows you to skip Rockstar stuff, plus having it on Steam is much easier than having it on Rockstar.

      In short steam>any other game platforms

      You get updates like 5min before the steam version, other than that there is no difference.

      I was told apparently you can't play with your steam friends if you don't buy it on steam is that correct also is there and other differences ?

        looking into it further even steam users are required to sign up to rockstar so u can play with friends only diff no steam achievements

        Same as GTAIV its just the social club app the pops up before the game starts to verify u own in it.

        @JAKEBAB: cheers. Do you find the social club app is like steam in the way it's always trying to start up automatically when you turn the PC on? Steam feels a little bit intrusive for my liking.
