Sony A6300 (Body Only) Mirrorless Camera $1087 (Plus $200 EFTPOS Card via Redemption) @ Digital Camera Warehouse

30

Not as good as deal posted last month but still a great price (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/352348) for a very capable camera.
Camera needs to be purchased by 31/1/18 and need to submit claim by 14/2/18 to get cash back ($200)

Mine also came with a $50 voucher for camera accessories from Sony Australia in the box (not advertised but presumably in all the boxes).

I got JB Hi-Fi to price match so I didn't have to wait for delivery.

    Please explain the difference.

I just want a little pocket camera that can take super clear photos in the day and night

    • Just sick with the camera in your phone. Do not get an a6x00 camera as it will be way too big.

      • Just sick with the camera in your phone.

But it's so poor. When I zoom in, the clarity goes to shit.

        • What model phone do you have? Might have to settle with the RX100 series then.

        • @Orpheus:

          Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

      • My a6000 can fit into my pocket

Encourage you to do your own research but the Sony RX series is a compact camera, great quality but has a smaller sensor and non-interchangeable zoom lens, and is more pocketable.

This one has interchangeable lenses and a larger sensor so it will be much bigger and heavier in size. However the bigger sensor should provide less noisy photos at night. Both will produce stunning photos in good light.

    • Both cameras will perform very well in daylight. For low light, edge probably goes to the a6300 (even if you only put a kit lens on it) due to larger sensor and better autofocus. I haven't used the RX100 M5 but I own the Mark 3 version and it struggles in low light (and has the same lens and same sensor as the M5 I believe).

The RX100 is smaller though and might just fit in your pants pocket. The a6300 would only fit in a large jacket pocket.
If you don't have any interest in getting more lenses the RX100 is probably a better bet overall.

    • a6000/6300/6500 are not really pocket cameras. you need a lens and unless you get the crappy pancake lens or you have huge pockets there's no way they're gonna fit in one

      • Definitely changed my view on them after having a 5N around my neck for 2 weeks while on holidays (tbf majority of that weight came from the lens I had at the time).
Would gladly take the slight hit in performance by going with an RX100 if it meant i could fit it in my pocket (or even around my neck being that it's 299g).

      • Kit lens is ok once you stop it down to f5.6 plus its super compact with a decent range. It's not great glass but its not as bad as some make it out to be.

    • You should consider a fujifilm x-100f. Great camera that can fit into (large) pockets

      • haven't been many deals on the 100f for quite a while now
still about the 14xx range grey imports (compared to the local stock at that price previously)

      • +1

Why? Its large and even taller than the a6300. Plus it has a fixed lens and sounds like he's after a zoom. What an odd recommendation.

          And a phone recommendation isn't?

Anyone with even a passing interest in taking their photography further shouldn't be settling for a phone

        • @OzViper: A phone actually fits in your pocket. The x100f/a6x00? Not a chance.

  • Did anyone buy it for $810 through the link in the past OP posted above. from the comments it Looks like it was a pricing error by the good guys and the orders may not have been honoured.

Howver $1087 ($200 CASHBACK) seems like the best price i have seen in a while. Pulled the trigger too earlier this evening.
