How to spend an online credit card with an irregular amount

I recently received an online-only virtual MasterCard for the odd amount of $24.71. Trying to think of places I can use the card online to extract the total value.

So far, the best I've come up with is partially paying my Telstra bill, where I can enter in any amount for payment. Any other ideas?

Buy something online and make 2 split payments.

    • I'm surprised how few retailers allow this! Haven't had much luck so far.

You can add the money to your PayPal wallet if you use PayPal. Not sure if they accept virtual credit card.

    • I had the same problem and you can't do it. PayPal only accepts bank transfers to the wallet apparently - they don't want to take on the credit card risk I believe. You can add the card to your paypal, but not the balance.

    • The card actually works fine with PayPal, but it looks like I can't split payments between multiple cards, so I'm still trying to think of ideas for where I can enter in a specific amount I want to spend.

      • Decide on something to buy, move item cost minus 24.71 cash from your bank account to PayPal, then try to buy it. It will use the PayPal balance first, and you can use the card as a backup for the remainder

I think you can buy Woolworths eGift cards for buyer-specified amounts? That is as good as cash to most people.

    • We have a winner! I use these anyway, but usually only in batches of $100. Thanks for the idea.

      • Can do the same for JB HiFi, buy an irregular amount

  • Every time I use the self service checkout at Woolies, there's a part card, part cash option. I assume that's what it's for.

There was an earlier post here about that function:
