    Deal

  • Is the arcade edition a free update for those who already have the original game?

    • +3

Yes, but the arcade edition (physical or digital) comes with season 1 and 2 DLC characters, whereas original version requires you to purchase or earn points in game to unlock them.

S1 DLC: Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri
S2 DLC: Akuma, Kolin, Ed, Abigail, Menat, Zeku

If you don't care about those characters, then the standard edition from Catch (with the $10 off special that's on) is cheaper (~$19). Another minor advantage of arcade edition is that you don't have to download the game to start playing right away (for single player), whereas standard edition, you do have to update to get the "arcade mode". It makes no difference if you want to play online - update to latest version is required.

It's showing £17.85 so I decided to buy it from OZGameshop instead (can pay AUD directly and I have a $2.50 voucher so after shipping, it ended up being below $30). It's unlikely you will get the game before 31/01/2018 so you will miss out on the anniversary costumes special.

It's showing £17.85 - yes, that's including their tax that is omitted when you complete the sale.
OzGameShop is also in the UK… Xbite Ltd Unit 1, Maison Court Midland Way, Barlborough Chesterfield UK S43 4GD
They ship out only Australian version releases/stock from Australia. Unfortunately, the Arcade Edition is UK physical release, thus shipping is out of the UK.
I too hope my Base.com order arrives by the 31st Jan.. but that also seems as unlikely as ordering from OzGameShop..

Thanks for that. Makes sense. I cannot get that kind of conversion rate from my lousy bank though. Anyway, already bought from OZGameshop using Paypal. OZGameshop order won't arrive before end of month either (bought from them before, normally 1 week, sometimes longer). Prefer Paypal because I had games shipped from overseas with broken case due to minimal packaging (at this price, the packaging tends to be very ordinary).

Aren't the anniversary costumes free on PSN?

        • Good point. Managed to add it to my AU PSN account. I wondered it will work with the game from overseas (EU region). Hopefully, it will.

Never quite figure out how all these regions work. I tried it on an non-AU PSN account, I couldn't add that to that profile.

keep in mind you still need to buy the S3 pass to play Sakura or the other 5 characters coming out over this year… You can use in-game earnable fight-money, which is doable without much grind for at least for a few characters, but much harder that previously… or you can purchase the S3 pass at $44.95 and hopefully cheaper in the coming months… (SFV:AE Deluxe ie. S1,2,3 Passes is $84.95 AU PSN)

to put it in perspective the cheapest the previous deluxe version of SFV with S1 & S2 pass ever got on AU PSN was around $45-50 i believe.

this is the same thing, rebranded… so $28 is great value… best time to get into this game right now, capcom's not doing everything perfect but they are working hard. tonnes of people coming back or joining in, some great characters, some great competitive community stuff going on. some character balance required and no doubt coming, but heres been some really big positive changes to the style of gameplay in AE..

  • Does the dlc work on the Australian PSN store? I know the dlc comes on a code instead of on the disc.

  • Expired peeps, back to 24+ pounds.
