MSI AMD Radeon RX580 Armor ITX 8GB Graphic Card $499 Delivered @ Harvey Norman

80

Cheapest available RX580 at the very inflated GPU pricing.
Staticice seems to have very outdated prices, or the ones listed have no stock. I hate how I didnt buy when this was available.

Ended up pulling the trigger because I dont see GPU prices coming down any time soon, and wanted AMD for its freesync.

Delivery only it seems, though you might be able to try your luck in store. Or price match another store. Either way seems like a good price.

  • gumtree is the only way to get a deal now on gpu's

but also risky. the 580 is still a current model GPU, so many people getting rid of them have had them running 24/7 for who knows how long mining. Some have had the BIOS modified for a higher hashrate too.

        • +10

Because someone telling you it has not been used for mining is 100% truth
Firmware can be reverted back to original.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod: how to tell via gumtree/ebay listing that warranty is not void?

      • +3

gumtree every ad is asking more than 500 except for one which seems very sketchy.
By the time you find one close to you, make sure its working, haggle to a reasonable price make sure its covered by aus warranty and not bought off amazon france you might as well have bought the one from HN.

I wasn't just mentioning that gpu. Obviously timing with Gumtree is important

    • I saw someone selling a bricked RX 480 for $400 cause he tried to BIOS mod it lol.

      • Hahaha did he mention it?

  • Yep, great price! Just need to be willing to wait 3-4 weeks.

  • Remember when you could get a 480 8GB 2 years ago for under $350…

    • i still kick myself that i didnt buy a strix for $270 before all the hype

Lord help us all. Because of the crytomining craze, we're now having to admit that we can get good deals on GPUs from Harvey Norman off all places…

  • PC Gamers I am completely out of the PC Gaming scenes since 2001, I remember having a GeForce 3, 128Mb card! it was almost the bees knees and I loved playing TOCA 2 , Grand Prix Legends. I now want to get back in the PC Gaming scenes, any tips on a Turnkey off the shelf system?

    • budget?

I picked up one of the dell xps 1070 desktops last year. Good value and works well. Turn key off the shelf and good support. Pretty much on par or cheaper than doing it yourself too.

      • Dell seem to have it pretty well covered for the most part, this seems good value at under 1200. despite the 4g GPU, this should still play current titles at 1080p 60fps. But as Tarquin mentioned, depends on your budget.

    • Right now is unfortunately a bad time to buy due to inflated prices in some of the important components.

Specifically, RAM and GPU prices are at an all time high.

      • +1

Well, your ' all time high ' opinion there is not even remotely relating to reality, but I guess if you're too young to have been buying hardware before this decade you don't have enough perspective to know better.

Suffice it to say that we've had it good for a long time now, and the memory cartel is attempting to swing the needle back their way.

        • Yes, I was exaggerating.

    • Keep an eye out for the 1060 3GB. It doesn't seem to be as price gouged as the other cards. $300 would be a decent price for it.

  • Warning - some reports of unstable drivers for this card. Check Newegg reviews. Also, sag issues if connected into standard pcie slot.

    Mining

  • Hrmmm I'm sceptical, the wholesalers are demanding more than this price now and there is very limited stock. Will Harvey deliver? I would be calling them immediately to confirm timeline and pricing!

  • dat 3 - 4 weeks delivery though.
