  looks like a good deal but its a pitty its only 32 bit windows 7 OS option. I wonder if you can use the recovery option to reinstall the OS and if there would be a 64bit option to choose on these old DELL pcs & laptops? I called up DELL in the past and they said no even though the laptop hardware supported 64 bit i would have to buy the upgrade license from Microsoft but i wasn't confident in what they told me as i know in the past with other makes of PC's and laptops i have been able to reinstall windows 7 and set it to 64 bit.

    yes, is a real pity. Still I do have a 32 bit with 4gb of RAM, even if not using its full potential, it works as a charm. I have the feeling that not using it at 100% makes it working better in the long run, but I could be wrong (and I don't have any prove).

  For the same i7-870 processor it's $705 if you upgrade it to 4GB ram, and has a bigger hard drive.
  You don't get Windows with it but is that really a big deal in this day and age?

    Yes because it won't work without an operating system lol, and torrenting is illegal. Don't compare this system with another one with illegal software.

      Lets not assume we all use illegal… some people have retail copies they can transfer, others have free or very cheap copies from Microsoft promotions like the student one or dreamspark or developer offers etc. Or of course those who dont want windows… There are perfectly valid reasons to buy a PC without OS.

      That said Barbo you are comparing apples and oranges. (Mmm Apples was probably not the best analogy)

        Yea obviously if you don't want windows, there are better deals without it(because windows costs money) but he was implying not paying for windows, confirmed by his comment below.
