the bottle opener is a bit too awkward IMO, but these things are still pretty cool. I might grab another couple. Cheers OP.

Weird they have already done this deal, I just received it

    • OzRRP?

1 cent more expensive. Why are you wasting our time?

      • I'll call security!

  • +1

Got to remember to remove this from the key chain before leaving for the airport!

    • +3

pfft because it looks just like a key they never even notice.

I've flown with one of these on my keychain for years. never been an issue

      • -4

Great idea for the terrorists amongst us!

      • sorry but you're wrong. I work at the airport and we're always on the watch for keys like these and you WILL be stopped and asked to dispose of this where I work.

        • +2

I've never been stopped for carrying one through security, then again I've made it through with a Swiss army knife I didn't realise was in the bag. The only thing they've pulled me up for was nail clippers…"Crash the plane or I'll give someone a bad manicure."

I have been flying with this thing on my keychain for years without an issue

      • flying keychain - another function :)

  • Will it last more than a month?

    • Probably. But it's crap. The screw driver is very small and doesn't open the kind of screws you expect to need on a regular basis (it's also hard to screw), and the can opener is hard to use.

      • +3

        It's more of an emergency-tool.
To use the bottle opener, you have to hold the knife-blade.
It's less than ideal, but better than an unopened bottle!

          That's me out

          @Jackson:

'Knife' is being optimistic, it's good for cutting the tape on a cardboard box but you can put maximum pressure on it without cutting your skin.

"doesn't open the kind of screws you expect to need on a regular basis"

Its not for opening screws on a regular basis, buy a screwdriver driver set. It's a tool to help you out in a pinch, nothing more.

        • @ademiix: In my experience a tool to help you out in a pinch often puts you in a bigger pinch. Believe me I am the last to be a tool snob, but this looks difficult to accept

        • +2

To use the bottle opener, you have to hold the knife-blade. ==> you are using it wrongly.

Let me say this. when I'm in a pinch, the screws I need to open aren't the ones this screwdriver can handle. That's why I say "regular".

This is for tiny screws like watches. I can't see myself needing to open a watch in a situation where I have no access screwdrivers but need one now.

I bought this last time. Not practical.

If you have it on your keyring as you are meant to, the screwdriver and knife tip is sharp and will jab at your leg if you keep it in your pockets.

If you use some hook to keep your keys clipped to your trouser belt strap thingies you might be ok, but those people have their keys jangle when they walk, and should be shot.

If you're a lady and keep your keys in a handbag, you should be fine.

But for sane people, and non-ladies, I don't recommend this.

Almost bought it, thanks for the warning :)

Damn, already bought and I'm a male.

Should I look into a sex change?

The knife on this tool might be able to assist.

Got one from last sale. Been on my keyring and in my pocket for last couple of weeks and no jabs or stabs at all. When I finally started remembering that it was there it has come in handy quite a bit.

    • +3

      Stop wearing skinny jeans

    • Don't know what you're talking about, ive had mine on my keyring in my pocket for weeks without an issue. The 'sharp' knife folds into the philips head so there is nothing more sharp than any other key on your keyring. It's even got a sort of clip to hold it in place so it doesn't open up unintentionally in your pocket.

      • On the key I got from zapals, that clip has a sharp unfinished edge on it.
Not the same quality as my original swiss-tech.

      • The philips head itself is sharp.

  • Still haven't got mine from the last sale

  • Definitely worth 99c, but it's not a genuine Swiss Tech Utili-key.

    • you think?

  • +2

Got mine from last sale. Still don't know what I'd use it for

    • Same…… Hahaha. Exactly the same

  • Thanks grabbed one. For a buck you you cant go wrong.

  • Is this a legit Swiss-Tech? I've owned two in the past —- the second one I owned was a much lower quality than the first. So much so that the tab that holds the key closed snapped off after a few months. I've since found out that knock-offs are pretty common.

    • You mean your 2 genuine swiss-tech keys have been different?

      • Sorry - I mean that I believe the first one was legit and the second was fake, only because it seemed much lower quality and was much cheaper.

    • +2

Got one in first deal and have real doubts about this….Got a legit one years ago and extremely handy, that came in a blister pack. This comes loose - doesn't look quite the same and doesn't seem as well made.

      • Same. This one from zapals isnt as smooth for the pivot point.
