Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall $189 Free Delivery Most Areas @ Tentworld

90

Just found this at TenWorld - which includes free shipping essentially $9.99 cheaper than Anaconda.

Bought one from Anaconda last week for $199 which I thought was a good price, now at $189 is the cheapest I have seen these anywhere. I bought mine after seeing one when i was camping over christmas, great size, great quality.

  • how hard is it to put up? (do you need 2 people?)

    • Easy as, no need for 2 people at all

    • It's possible with one, but it's a bit difficult. With two people it's not too hard, but still takes 10 mins. Personally, I have one and it's done me well, but when it's time to replace it I'm going to get one of the square gazebo's that you just stretch out and peg down.

      • yeah I was eye'ing off an Oztrail one, I talked to a few different people who had them recently & they said they are good & sturdy.

      • just curious.. but why switch to the oztrail one?

I have recently bought the oztrail deluxe 3.0.. very sturdy and made well.. but as the same time.. 27kgs + very large making it a pain to load in the car and lug around

  • Same price at snowys

    • I bought mine from Bunnings.
      It's such an awesome tent.

Looks like I can finally have that house by the beach.

  • don't forget anaconda will beat competitors prices by 10%
managed to get a tent price down $80 matching with tentworld

  • Left it up for a few days, and fabric ripped in 2 places and one of the metal bars bent due only from light wind conditions. I know your not meant to leave it up for that long but I wasn't expecting a good quality tent at this price anyway.

  • Can anyone please educate me whether this can be used as a shelter for covering part of the swimming pool from direct sunlight? If so what kind of accessories do I need to peg it onto concrete tiles? thanks!

    • The material on the event 14 shade tents is a bit poor. I have the original event 14 (blue) and it has only been used on a few trips and the material is already failing. A few small tears which will require taping. I knew when buying it it would not last long based on previous reviews but I only paid $70 when Rays were closing down last year. Based on the original Coleman then introduced the Deluxe model (green) which addressed the issue of sub standard materials but with a hefty price tag.
For cover over a pool I would go with a 3x3 or 6x3 gazebo if it will fit. Oztrail have sandbag fittings which clip onto the legs which keep it in place ovr concrete tiles.

Our blue one has collectively spent many weeks in the sun on camping trips over the years, and, except for all the bird and bat shit on it, it's still fine.

        • Keeps the water out ok?

        • This is the basic one yea?

        • +1

@DrSyd: I wasn't aware there were different options - since we bought this one and haven't looked into it since. It keeps the water out mostly, it has a vent at the top where water could get in, and the 'walls' only clip on - so they're not water or insect proof. We just set it up in the middle of camp as a common area to relax, cook, or get out of the weather.

  • I got the deluxe model fairly recently. Bit more expensive. Ideally you need two people to set it up and take down (the framing in particular). It's pretty simply. Packed up in the bag it weighs about 23kg.

Unless we go camping for a cple of days, as a rule, I take it down after a few hrs of use in the back yard.

    • Do you think the "deluxe" is much different from the standard. They make out it is more water resistant although just from comparing my tent fly (which is water resistant) to the gazebo I can hardly tell the difference.
