No, Sony TVs use the SIRC protocol while LG TVs use the NEC protocol.
So will this work with my NEC tv?

Bought one before Xmas for $10 in GG ebay.
Even the El cheapo copy on ebay was $7+, long wait delivery and need to learn the buttons.
Was going to pay $20-$30 for the same from other seller.
Quality is excellent, as original.

GG ebay doesn't have it.. you can try to get it delivered if that suits along with other stuff like this one Subbeam Grill $22.50 if you need . OR check with Bing Lee(binglee.com.au) to price match if they have in stock
I managed to order from GG ebay (was showing as Last One)last night but gor a call from GG Joondalup (WA) just now that they don't have it in stock and that it's on order (will be couple of weeks). I said I'll wait, see if something better crops up by then.
Update: Received call from a nearby store that stock has arrived. I had already paid for shipping, asked the guy if I do a store pickup, can the delivery charge be waived? And he said yes, but they will have to put a request to web-team.
Will pick up tonight hopefully.

I need one for a Plasma Samsung, but never see a special like this for it, roughly about $50 odd at JB for a replacement.
currently use the tv buttons and an android app for it. haven't been concerned enough to search ebay or anywhere else etc.
Would this control mi box ? Specifically,would it turn mi box on? I bought another remote for it after losing the original that came with it and that only works after mibox is manually switched on by disconnecting power.

Bought one last time. Works perfectly, however, a few buttons are laid out in different spots compared to the original one.
