      Yeh was going to question the length of that, was too dam good to be true

    • +4

      OP please put this in the post description. And amend the title that price is for the first month only. Otherwise this deal is misleading.

        Done

          What I meant was:

          Put the prices $29/$39 after first month in the post description.

          Put "first month only" in the post title.

    Yep, misleading. I bought the XL 23GB Kogan deal, couldn't be happier, I don't have to worry for another year. Up to 40% off Unlimited Prepaid 365-Day SIM Plans @ Kogan Mobile (23GB $315.10, 16GB $254.30, 6GB $205.60, 2GB $152.10) https://www.kogan.com/au/shop/phones/prepaid-plans/?facet-pr…

      Agree with you. This deal is good for those who want to port out from their provider and port in to their existing provider later. I am with Kogan and was looking for a deal to port out for one month and port in to Kogan again

      • If you’re only using to port it can be difficult - clunky activation and ordinary customer service

        Also - if you’re an iPhone user and want any ability to use your iMessage during your Lycamobile tenure, you need to add credit, which is a minimum of $10

      • How long does telco's take (now a days) to port number ? I want to port number but bit worried that i will be without phone (number on which i am expecting important calls )

        • +1

          Porting numbers just takes a few hours and is pretty instant provided you are going from either Telstra or Vodafone to Lycamobile (Telstra).

          Vodafone to Vodafone ports, Optus to Optus (oh these are super nasty) and Telstra to Telstra ports all take FOREVER (a few days).

        • @StrayfireX: thanks mate, i have heard porting to optus is nightmare, going from Vodafone to Aldi soon…hope it goes through fairly quickly

        • +1

          @Daved:

          Porting to Optus is fine. I do it often. It's just Optus to Optus is terrible. I did Amaysim (Optus) to Optus and it took 5 days.

          The Amaysim rep said it had to be approved manually so you can't port outside of 9am - 5pm Mon-Fri. Then you add a few extra days because reasons.

          @StrayfireX:

          is there a strategy where if i want to port to optus reseller to optus:

          i can first go optus -> 2$ prepaid telstra -> optus?

        • +1

          @MagicTsukai: Nope, you have to go:

          Optus -> $0 prepaid non-Optus SIM -> Optus

          Spending that $2 on Prepaid Telstra is very un-Ozbargain.

        • +2

          @MagicTsukai:

          Yeah that works. Should be faster than Optus - Optus.

        • @sky blu: where can i get the $0 prepaid non optus sim?

          and also can you set it up with your number with no need to recharge?

        • @MagicTsukai: Look out for Free SIM starter pack deals. Last time I got the $2 Telstra and Kogan Starter Packs for free. I got like 5 packs from each telco.

    Also there is no MMS sending & receiving.
    You'll get login details instead to view mms messages on telstra's site.

  • Also Iphone users stay away from Lycamobile! Imessenging doesn't work.

    SMS characters are jumbled.

    • It works - see my reply above

    It's the worst provider I used. Slow feedback and not solved my problem at all. Weeks ago tried to port my number in but fails, failed was fine if I did some wrong during the process, but it should never active my SIM with a dame new number which I will never use. Asked for help and waited ages and was told this SIM has been used. Fk

  • Terrible service from this company. No MMS seriously we are in 2018.it took them over a week to port my number plus every time i rang i had to wait in excess of 45min onhold.

  • Don't anyone make the same mistake I did changing to this company, it is by far the worst provider, and believe me I know them almost all. Terrible customer service.

  • Need mms and 1300 1800 numbers included
