They did increase the price. It’s about $10 more after discount.

Which is faster: Evo+ or Evo Plus?

"Plus" is the newer, 2017, model.

      • Thanks. So this looks like the newer model.

    • I believe "Plus" is the newer version

  • Plus is newer :)

  • At futu, they took the extra 10% off in the cart before the 20% off started.

    • No longer available right?

    Dammit, price-jackers! :(

Was hoping to grab one for ~$120, which would have made it around 46c or 47c/GB. At $129.60, it's still over 50c/GB, which is still just a bit too much of a price premium over 128GB (~39c/GB) and 64GB (~36c/GB) for me…

It is a great price for the card, 256GB cards just not quite getting to the sweet spot yet!

  • Does anybody have a link to a 256GB suitable for the Nintendo switch covered by PCTECH code? Think the one linked is just on the slow side. Thanks

I have the 128GB Evo Plus in my Switch and it's fine. Really UHS 3 is more than enough performance, probably overkill for the Switch. You won't notice much benefit going to something more expensive, maybe shave off a second of load time?

This card is suitable for the Nintendo Switch - why do you say it's on the slow side?

The Switch can only utilise U1/Class 10 write speeds (faster cards will be bottlenecked and write at the same speed), and Nintendo recommends 60MB/s-95MB/s read speeds, which this card does (rated at 100MB/s, and speedtests seem to put it in the 90s).

Are you confusing with the old Evo cards?

I have the 64GB Samsung Evo Select (exactly the same as the Evo Plus apparently) in my Switch now, and plan to replace it with a 128/256GB Evo Select or Plus when the prices come down. (Note: The 64GB cards are actually slower than the 128Gb/256Gb cards.)

This is my planned card for my switch when the price drops more. Can't see how it wouldn't be fast enough.

      • Thanks for the replies. My son was thinking he needed something like the v30 sandisk etc.
