They got rid of peanut butter and pretzels. Connoisseur are dead to me now.

Might get some cookies and cream though.

    • Matcha is nice, and we tried salted caramel w/ hazelnuts the other day. That wasn't bad.

      • Matcha has white chocolate in it which doesn't sound good.

Nothing beats Matcha in Shinsaibashi, Japan

        • +1

But we aren't in Japan, toto.

        • @bohn:

Yeah so try Japanese grocer here they stock better matcha icecream

    • NOOOOOOO…. peanut butter was my fav too!

Do you know of any other peanut butter flav ice cream worth trying?

    • Cookies and cream is life, I always buy 2-3 at these prices, generally last me till the next sale.

Just track the price cycle, and set an 🚨

  • My flavour is cookies and cream, only last tub I bought was cream and barely any cookies. If they pull the same crap again I'll stop buying.

Hugely let down by the mint & coconut flavours.. the two I’ve been looking forward to them bringing out

    • +1

Coconut I agree is a bit underwhelming but the mint is personally my favourite of the lot now.

      • +1

        Mint is godly.

      • +1

        mint is good.

        • Might have to give it another shot. I found it to be a bit bitter. Ran into a bad batch perhaps

        • @Saban: i really like the mint taste of this one, not too sweet, really refreshing.

        • +1

@iversonjack: ok. Bought it. Tried it (again). Love it!

Thanks OP. The Caramel Honey Macadamia flavour is to die for, it's the closest I've ever come to tasting the butterscotch ice cream flavour (that you get in India).
    Good stuff.

  • too bad only coles sells Honey Nogut flavour… dunno why

  • Is it a bargain if its not half price? Seems there is a gourmet ice cream at half price on any given trip to Coles.

"….and my cravings for Cafe Grande are getting the better of me."

Try Coffee Mocha from Aldi …. $4.49 every day. This flavour and their Vanilla are excellent (IMO).

    • Absolutely but my machine died. Loved making peppermint/choc chip especially.

  • Make your own and you'll never look back

    • True, unless you're really crap at it :). Making your own gives a much bigger choice of flavours.

      • You can't always be bad at it. After a few times, if you research, it's a cake walk. I'd recommend it for regular ice cream eaters as the costs of 'half price' add up quickly

        • +2

What would you estimate the cost of ingredients for 1L of DIY ice cream is?
Just 600ml of thickened cream is almost $3

        • +2

@NigelTufnel: make your own cream :P

    • Absolutely but my machine died. Loved making peppermint/choc chip was my favourite to make.

  • My favourite flavor was Summer strawberry, havent seen it sold for many years.

  • It's not half price :(

  • NO! C'mon not again!

There goes my new year's resolution… Thanks

  • They need more flavours. Ive tried them all!

Woot cheapest they’re ever been, time to stock up.

  • +4

I remember when this ice cream first came out, was like $7 a pop. Now its on special at $6 a pop. WTF.

    • +1

      yeah, this pisses me off.
have not bought it since they jacked up the standard price to $10

  • +1

I'd rather flush $6, than eat all that sugar.

    • +5

Can I have your $6 instead?

  • +1

Is there any comparable aldi brand icecream? Woolies is a bit far from where I am right now.

    • +1

aldi vanilla is what connoisseur used to taste like, they changed it a few years a go, it went to trash.

    • +1

My favourite from Aldi is the 500ml ice cream coffee with amoretti biscuit. Alternatively, their 1L Monarc Indulge tubs are satisfactory.

  • So 40% off not exactly half price. That's new years evolution from Woolies disguise as half price but not really

  • -1

I can't believe anyone on here (if they are true bargain hunters) would actually pay $6 let alone $10 for a litre of ice cream. For that I would expect genuine hand churned home made ice cream, not something that is mass produced in a Factory with a fancy label.

    • What do you buy? 4 litre Peters when it's$4?

    • Good luck finding it and post here hand made ice cream $6 with enough volume to serve all bargainers here. Take it for the challenge with no machines involved and enough quantity so it qualifies as a deal. Your new years revolution right here
