  • Is it (2.2A + 1.2A) OR (3.4A + 3.4A) ??

    • +3

      2.4A x 2 ( Max. 3.4A )

    • All I can say that I have my dashcam plugged in 24/7. If I try and charge my phone, its definitely below 2A, I'm not really sure what my dash camera consumes, I would assume less then 2A.

      • 👍

      • How's the experience with phone calling?

        • +3

There's no mic on the 3S.

I'm tired of waiting for these deals to come by - how can I make my own luck and get these companies to do a coupon on blitzwolf desktop chargers (BW-S7) and USB-C cables?

    • +1

      Ask a rep.

Quite a good car MP3 Fm transmitter + USB charger. Quite compact. Only complaint from me is - unlike the older type of FM transmitters, it doesn't come with ANY buttons. If I want to change a song, I would have to do it on the phone.

    • I find the shake feature pretty good

      • I cannot get that feature to work for me consistently on iOS, Any tips? Am I shaking it wrong or something

        • +2

Am I shaking it wrong or something

You have to grab it at the end and shake vigorously.

  • How do you change the fm frequency without any face buttons?

    • +1

      The app via bluetooth connection

  • +1

I have one of these from a previous deal. It's practically unusable for me because the volume is way too low. After some Googling I saw this trick where launching the player via the Xiaomi app boosts the volume, but it is only a minor boost and nowhere near enough to make up the difference. I really have to ramp up the car volume which doesn't do much for the quality not to mention having to re-adjust it to not blow my ears out if switching to another radio station again.

Anyone else have this issue? Tips?

    • +1

Haven't had that issue with mine but have noticed major differences when changing frequencies. Maybe try a few different frequencies and see if it makes a difference.

      • One thing I forgot to mention is the basic device volume generated by the ROIDMI like pairing and power-on sounds are a good volume. It's just when the sound comes from the phone. Fine when using other Bluetooth headphones.

Stupidly I keep forgetting to dig out an older phone to try the ROIDMI with, not that it solves the issue.

        • Hmm yeah does sound like a strange one. Perhaps even try checking in the ROIDMI app that the device firmware is updated also try using it with and without the noise filters to see if it makes a difference. I find that the power on sounds are a fair bit louder than my music also.

    • Volume is great for me.

    • Volume all good for me too! No visible difference switching from radio to roidmi

      • +1

No visible difference switching from radio to roidmi

It'd be rather worrying if there was.

Are there any audible differences though? :)

    • Works fine on one car but volume on the low side on the other car…

    • +1

Volume OK for me. You can use Tasker or IFTTT to set max volume when connected the Roidmi:

      https://ifttt.com/applets/412061p-when-connected-to-your-car…

      • Already maxed out on the phone.
Even tried a couple of volume boost apps that seem to preamp the sound rather than just being system volume adjusters but then the quality is non-existent.

        • Yeah that is a bugger. I'd also suggest maybe trying a different band. I use 100.00 in Melbourne and works fine.

  • I am unable to connect mine to app. Anyone else having the same problem on IOS?

  • Thanks OP

  • So what happens if a call comes in? It uses the phone's mic?

    • You can set your phone to use this device for media, for calls, or for both.

      • But the ROIDMI doesnt have a mic. That is why im asking if the default setting is output the voice from the call through the car's stereo while voice input is through the phone's mic.

        • Yeah not very good at answering call, I use mobile speaker as voice doesn’t go through car’s speakers.

        • you'll hear the other party's voice from your car speakers but you'll need to speak to your phone's mic I guess?
edit: really? so basically it just disconnects from the bluetooth when calls come in?

  • +1

Thank you OP. Been needing these for a while. Got in time before an offers inevitable ozbargaining 😁

  • I have one of these, for whatever reason I can't seem to hear the calls through the radio. What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting or should it work automatically. I can never hear the call and instead have to hit my phone speaker button.

    • +1

Its in your bluetooth settings for the device, you can select media, calls or both.

      • I don’t think this feature is available on iOS.

        • +1

That might be true, you can do it in Android.

  • +1

Anyone know if there will be any Xiaomi Fan deals anytime soon?

  • +2

    expired? :(

  • Either a few of them or a lot of takers :(

  • I've got the 2S, is the only difference between that and this the output with 2S at 2.4A?

  • Finally got one. :-)

  • +1

    damn missed out !

This is cheaper than RRP in China which is RMB99, roughly AUD19.5. Just bought one from China and my friend will bring it to me …. Sad. And Xiaomi products in China usually no promotion at all, sometimes you pay more than RRP to get it if out of stock (Xiaomi's trick).

  • just a head's up - I suggest updating your firmware again if you recently updated your firmware to v17 - I updated my firmware to v17 on Monday and Tuesday had a flat battery. I charged the battery and all is ok, today I noted there is another firmware update for the ROIDMI and in the "what's new" it mentions "reduced battery consumption" - might just be conincidence, but I guess I'll find out overnight tonight.

    • Doesn't your cigarette lighter switch off when your engine is off?

      • nope… the bluetooth device still has it's LEDs lit up and is active - I'm guessing it drained my (on it's way out) battery to below enough charge to start the car.

        • Oh haha, unlucky, you have one of the few cars with an always-on cigarette lighter. You won't be able to run a dashcam easily either in that case.

Fortunately nearly every other car has a switched cigarette lighter that follows the ignition switch. That's why everyone can run a dashcam off their cigarette lighter.
