    Everything RGB!

Nice! Saw this the other day for $129 and was like 'Ehhh…' but for $86 I AM DOWN TO CLOWN MY BOY

    Premium RGB Gaming Headset Stand

Totally unnecessary, geeky and super-gaudy as a product, but my mouse cursor keeps finding it's way over the Add to Cart button. Must be that that bug in my Intel CPU.

    • +4

Think of the performance you'll gain from the additional RGB, will totally make up for Meltdown!

    • +7

You can see why I didn't put Premium or Gaming in the title. I just knew someone would say something.

    • Hmm. Can you turn off the RGB? I find it too distracting.

  • +2

This should at least increase the pcmark by at least 20%

  • +8

The most telling issue with this is the lack of audio specs, chipset etc.

    • +1

But it has "RGB Premium" in its name, so it must be good!

Who cares about audio specs? This is about lighting effects.

      • -2

I haven't heard of an rgb premium dac. Is it good?

I'm assuming the processing needs to convert to digital, process, then convert back to analogue. Great way to ruin your sound.

Xiaomi mirror ball, can we get a coupon………

    • I found specs pretty easily.

  • Waiting for Xiaomi's $10 headphone stand.

    • You could call this Xiaomi's headphone stand since 1MORE manufacture their earphones.

      • +2

        PU leather, soft and durable

        That's a laugh.

    • No one has figured out headstand that does not crush cushion, keep dust-free and be decorative.

  • Does the 7.1 surround sound work with any headphone, or just for headsets?

  • From the reviews, the sound card is average.

    • +5

The problem virtual surround has is the shape of the users ear determines whether it works or not. So it genuinely didn't work for those reviewers most likely.

There are many competing virtual surround systems but none that work for all people. Except possibly Dolby Atmos for Headphones, I've yet to come across anyone saying Overwatch surround wasn't anything but amazing but YMMV.

If Corsair's algorithm doesn't work for your ear shape you can use EqualizerAPO to convert surround to binaural stereo using a HTRF that works for your head shape.

I bought this and the RGB makes my computer run cooler, the screen tearing has gone and my KDR has improved 37%!

  • +1

    Why do I need this?

    • +5

So your mike doesn't change position, when you lay the headset flat on your desk. So annoying.

      • Several valid points, thanks.

  • +1

    7.1 in headphones.

    Ok.

    • 7.1 virtual surround sound

      Magic word.

    • +2

Virtual surround and true 7.1 headphones are a real thing and they both work contrary to some opinions.

      • Virtual surround

I've never had a good experience with virtual surround headphones — the sound just seems floaty and "all around you" rather than "oh, it's coming from behind me" or "that noise is to my rear left". Maybe I'm just overly picky.

        • +1

He actually summed it up above. Works for some.

        • key word is real surround sound, some cards try to emulate it via 2 speaker headphones, some headphones are multiple speakers in left and right.

my son has the cheap options, emulates, but hey, he has never hard real surround sound except at the cinema so know no better.

        • @garage sale:

Virtual 7.1 is better than true 7.1.

Virtual 7.1 has two large drivers. If you're getting true 7.1, you're going to get 7 tiny drivers, and any audiophile will tell you that smaller drivers sound worse in every way. You can get the same effect with 2.0.

  • fml…..i paid more than $70 for a simple Satechi stand………..
didnt even know this thing existed………………… :(

    • Time to cancel and order this? If it's already arrived flog it off on Gumtree.

For all those times when the pretty colours on your monitor, case, keyboard and mouse just aren't distracting enough. Introducing the Corsair F*&king Eyesore.

Forget that boring old headphone stand - now, they come with C O L O U R S. You want red? No problem son, we got red. You want blue? Sheet, we got you covered. You want pink? What are you, some kind of commie? Nah, we got you too, fam.

      Corsair FE Edition….love it!

      • Coming soon - the Corsair FE Edition SE - now with tempered glass panels and fibre optic lighting.

  • When a headphone stand cost $90 AUD

    • +3

When a headphone stand, sound card and USB hub costs $90. Big difference.

No idea why people hate Razer yet fanboy Corsair. They are all the same to me.

    • +3

Corsair's stuff doesn't break anywhere near as often, and is nowhere near as overpriced. Razer are mostly just a marketing company, like Bose.

      • Corsair markets a ton too. And a lot of Corsair products have been absolutely dog crap in the past too

keyboards: plenty of led issues. early k70s had leds gradually but rapidly all die out.

        mouse (read reviews) :https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Raptor-M30-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00CXI0BAG
Their new mice seem to be appealing to rgb and dpi battles. NONE of their mice is appealing to non-casual fps gamers.

        Headsets: typical overpriced gaming garbage

mousepads: their mousepads are not even relevant.

        • I have a K70 purchased around 2013-ish - all LEDS still work. Just sayyin.

          Must've gotten lucky.

        • @zuey: Yep. But there were batches where all the LEDs just die out very fast.

  • +1

is there a cheap(er) alternative to this? I just want a headphone stand with usb charging for my wireless PC headset (Arctis 7) without the lights and soundcard etc.

  • This isn’t a bargain. The Australian price is just mega inflated

    • Where is it cheaper available to Australians? Until then this is a bargain as it's the cheapest available.

Even the Amazon listing is on sale.

      • LOL, everything is always 'on sale' on amazon. Just because the price has dropped since it was released, does not mean that it is on sale. The price will probably not even go back up ever.

It isn't cheaper elsewhere to Australians but that was not my point. My point is that the Australian retail prices for this product are just mega inflated. The Amazon price is just the normal price of the product.

        Not a bargain.

        This post is misleading.

        • Even then it's the cheapest price available to Australia. That's the definition of a bargain on this website. Unless you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

        • @Clear: So if the iPhone X is in short supply and out of stock at Apple store and the only places selling it are selling it for $2500, then the next day you see a store selling it for $1900 (around normal price), would you post it as a 'bargain'?

Edit: In Australia, someone along the distributing/supplying chain is making a killing by selling an inflated priced product. Just because someone else may be selling it cheaper at its usual price, does not mean it is a bargain. This is precisely why stores can get away with advertising a '50% off sale' all year round and have it still attract customers.

  • Will this work with ps4 pro ?

    • The Virtual surround won't, but everything else will.

  • So ugly. Why do gamers buy this garbage tacky crap.

  • Does anyone know if I can plug a USB mic into this?
(Specifically, the Blue gamer bundle that was on here haha)

    • It has a USB port, but I'm not sure if it's for charging only, or a passthrough.

  • I've spent 10 minutes looking at this and still don't get it.

Does it plug into an existing sound card with the "Built-in 3.5mm analog input enables full range Stereo or 7.1 Surround sound for an immersive, multi-channel Audio experience"
If so where is the output?

I assume Amazon have stuffed that up and that actually is the output.

Also where do you plug a mic into?

    What DAC has it got?

    • If it has its own DAC, it will plug in via USB.

      • If…..
I know how DACs work, but the specs are quite likely wrong on Amazon and not much more helpful @ Corsair.
Only 1 x 3.5mm socket is visible on the unit, so no separate phones / mic sockets.
It might be a TRRS connector, but again, specs are vague.

It's easier just to avoid buying audio gear from PC parts companies.

        • that is what I am trying to figure out where is the mic input?? I can't find a good amount of specs and how to on this

  • Price no longer valid
