Jaycar sell HDMI cables for $5 all the bloody time.

    • But Jaycar doesn't ship for free, do they..

    • Version 1.4?
      at $5 Free Postage?

Can i please have the link?

      Cheers

      • I thought all HDMI cable are the same, it's the device that has to support the different versions (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4)

    • Went on their site, couldn't find it.

Cheapest I found was $9.95, and the minimum order is $10+.
      and it's $7 postage.

Can you post a link to them?

    • Yeah nah. They were 10 bucks when I got one like two weeks ago.

  • just bought 2 from there, thanks for the post! :) $9 for x2 1.8m hdmi cables including postage = Bargain!

  • +5

nicely optimized title - reads like an ebay listing..

    • $6.95 + free postage on ebay

msy has these cables for $5 but 2m long and no stock in nsw.

  • Perfect for use with the previously listed WDTV Live media player bargain.

  • I got 2 of these last time, what can I say, they work.

  • Thanks, needed a couple of these, cheers.

      • Thanks missed out the voucher

  • can u plz sell 1.4a cable

    • +1

there is no difference between a 1.4 and a 1.4a cable!

They are both high speed with Ethernet.

Manufacturers and retailers are not even supposed to be using the 1.4 designation for cables.
"Adopters may no longer use HDMI version numbers in the labelling, packaging, or promotion of any cable product. This is effective immediately for any references to the HDMI Specification Version 1.4, and Adopters have a one-year grace period for removing references to earlier versions of the HDMI specification when describing their cables."
      http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/trademark_logo_pub.aspx

Any "high speed" cable with or without Ethernet will support 3D video a Audio Return Channel, even a high speed 1.3 cable will support these features!

  • I got a 10m v1.4 from them a few weeks ago, the cable was no good, visual corruption (red lines, pixels random colours etc.)

Their smaller cables may be fine, just be careful with the 10m.

  • Is this 28awg cable?

    • yes, good question. what is the awg on the cables?

    • +1

      Hi

      The 1.8m cables are 30AWG
We have 28AWG ~ 24AWG Ultra Premium series with metal head & nylon jacketing

FYI, there's not much difference on AWG for short length ones.

here's a link that you can read:
      http://www.hightv.de/showthread.php?t=5143

      Cheers

      • So for 3M cables would the money spent on premium cables be wasted?

When would you choose a premium one over a non-premium one?

        • Hello??? Rep?

I'm just running a full HD 58" Plasma, Xbox 360, Popcorn Hour and Tivo.

Really only need say 2 - 2.5M, but will go a 3M to be safe.

From what I understand this whole 'premium cable' thing is a w-nk, except for over 5M it makes a small difference.

I am running a cheapie DealExtreme cable and I do get some very slight weird motion blur sometimes, unsure if that's the cable, the TV, the source or the device.

        • +1

I would choose to have the normal ones if the length doesn't go more than > 5M

For what i understand & experience, those cheapie cables from HK/China.
I believe most of them made a shortcut during production on the pins within the cables.

19pins HDMI Cable is the standard one, some manufacturer tested to run with 15 pin & 3 twisted into 1 cable and it works. A total of 16 pins, instead of 19pins
That is why some people may experience some issue with it :)

As for your question, i'm not sure what cause you the slight weird motion blur.

          Cheers

  • Can you please fix your system. I have the following error message when trying to check out :
    "There is 1 error :
01.The address system has recently been updated, please update/check your address for verification."
I have updated my address but still get that message and cannot check out because of that.

    • I got it.

  • nice price Just ordered 8 :) yey

  • these cables are great. i bought 3x 1.8m and 2x 5m in a previous ozbargain deal, with bonus extra 1.8m cable. hooked up my panasonic HT system to my panasonic tv, and ARC works perfectly!

was a mix up with delivery and the bonus cable wasn't included, and the replacement didn't arrive either…but they are sending out a second replacement! great service! (hopefully the second replacement makes it to me!)

    • +1

I wouldn't exactly call a stuff up like that "great service". But it sounds like they went to great lengths to make it 'right' for you.

      • well yes, obviously that part is the great service…

    • replacement free cable received today.

  • I entered DECFREE in the postcode field and clicked and it comes back with "State not found".
Can't seem to get the free delivery ??

Anyone else had teh same problem ?

  • thanks - not sure how Ethernet thru HDMI cable works but just got four. =)

    • How did you enter the DECFREE code ? Did you get "Invalid State" error ?

      • Click on checkout, then on the checkout page somewhere below the page you'll see Add Voucher button, click on it and put in the code "DECFREE", this should give you free delivery but only for the 1.8m and 10m ones.

      • After i added it to my cart, in the "Shopping Cart Summary" Page, down the bottom of the page - it has three buttons:
        Continue Shopping, Add Voucher, Next

Click Add Voucher, then a Voucher Code: Field appears.

        Enter DECFREE, and click Add.

Tried it again as I type this, works fine.

    • The device your connecting to needs to support Ethernet over HDMI.
There is basically nothing that supports this feature at the moment.

      • Thanks mate.

        • Yeah, it's about future requirements. A HDMI cable from the future, that you can buy now!
          Simply amazing at this price!

  • Bought 3x 1.8m ones, waiting for them to arrive :)

  • what is the difference between 1.3 and 1.4 ??

    • The only difference between a high speed 1.3 cable and a 1.4 cable is Ethernet over HDMI support.

A high speed 1.3 cable should be work fine for both 3D video & Audio Return channel(ARC)

  • I get this error when trying to buy 4 x 3M cables and using the voucher.

"There is 1 error : this voucher isn't cumulative on products with reduction or marked as on sale"

Is the free shipping only on the other sizes?

    • I think the free shipping only applies on the 1.8m and 10m cables.

      • Still all good, under $37 or so for 4 x 3M cables delivered. Less than $10 a cable.

  • wow, ordered yesterday, received my cables today! why cant my other orders be this fast…

Looking forward to the Christmas Promotion!

Weird, Paypal says that the online store can't receive money??. I paid via Bank Transfer now.

  • Hi gb12345,
Just received my order this morning, however there was only 1 cable in the package, whereas I had ordered 2. Could you check up on this for me? My order number is #007310. Thanks.

    • Just got home and found that the 2nd cable was mailed to my home address, so all is good. Thanks.

  • Hi my order #7247 shows status being shipped on 02 Dec however I haven't got it yet. Could you pls check? Cheers.

  • bought one shortly after this was posted, it went through e-Cheque and I've just got an email saying the e-Cheque was refused "because your recipient is currently unable to accept funds to their PayPal account." ugh.

    • I've had the same problem, is there a way to get paypal to work?

  • Just bought 2 of these, only 1 came through the mail :(

    • Me too! gb12345 seems like an honorable rep, so I'm expecting this to be rectified, but they have to fix these problems with their ordering/delivery (and maybe extend some goodwill gesture for the sake customer satisfaction) or their reputation is heading for disaster.

      • +1

yeah, as above, my order from a previous deal was missing a cable.

they sent out a replacement, which never arrived, and then sent out a second one which did. the cable was a spare for me, so wasn't urgent, and so the whole thing didn't really bother me because i got the cable in the end.

so yeah, you should get your cable, but may take a bit longer.

    • Update: the rep got back very quickly to my query to say that for lots of 2, they were posted separately. Apparently that saves postage costs. How could I have ever doubted them ;)

  • Hi gb12345

I have ordered a HDMI cable on 1/12/2010, and the order number is #007042. As per email from Good Bargain, the cable has been shipped on 2/12/10 and an another email has stated that "You will soon receive a URL to click on in order to track the delivery progress of your package". I have yet received the URL link to track the purchase and I have not received the cable.

Please Note - I have also tried to use the "Contact US" email services via Good Bargain's web site and it gives me an "invalid message" msg

    Please investigate and provide update.

    Many Thanks

    Regards

    Dave

    • Exact same thing happened to me. Ordered two on 1/12. Sent on 2/12 saying will receive email with tracking number, never got it :( Have a feeling it's lost… It's been 8 days already :( Order #7073

      • Same here. Ordered 2/12. Shipped 2/12. Still not here. Order 7238. Didn't get the tracking URL either.

        • I ordered on 1/12 (shipped 2/12)and just got it today. I ordered two and have only received one so far. Having read some of the comments in the thread so far, it seems that they split the order into 2 packages, so I guess I will have to sit tight and wait for the second one to roll in soon (hopefully)…

It was regular post, so there would be no way to track it online anyway.

As a side note, when attempting to send a Customer Service form to Good Bargain at http://goodbargain.com.au/contact-form.php, I get the error:
          There is 1 error :
          invalid message

          Ah well..

Edit: Now received both HDMI cables with split postage envelopes.

  • Ordered 2 weeks ago, nothing received, emails unanswered. AVOID.

    • forget that.

  • I have received multiple reports of scam/non-delivery on GoodBargain.com.au, aka OozBoom.com.au (that was banned previously by OzBargain). Also heard that they can no longer accept fund via PayPal so looks like "something" is going on there.

GoodBargain.com.au is trading name of a registered company (OozBoom Pty Ltd ACN: 140840606 in NSW) so I think ACCC or Fair Trading NSW might want to hear about the cases here.
