  • if anyone has owned these could you provide some feedback, how the audio quality is etc

    • +1 this request

      • thanks. i knew they would be good, just wanted to see feedback from someone whos owned a pair. i have 2 x wired and 1 x wireless sennheiser heaphones and cant say anything bad about any of them.

        • +2

From my experience they're a little bassier than a lot of Sennheisers (which are typically quite flat/neutral sounding) - so they have a more "fun" sound which you may or may not like. By most accounts they are better sounding than their direct competitor the Bose QC35/II but are not quite as comfortable and the active noise cancelling isn't as good.

Hi, I've had these for about four months now. Whilst I love the fit and sound (upgraded from Bose QC 20) through both my iphone 6s and samsung s6, I had an issue with the sound from my Macbook Air (when using these headphones in bluetooth mode….it finally sorted itself out. I must say that Sennheiser support was pretty amazing - and certainly didn't just stop at the initial support call. The guy actually called me up and emailed me another four times to follow-up.
I love the swipe / gesture controls…..very handy both an airplanes and at home…..
Overall excellent headphones (and you know it's a bargain considering I paid close to double that at JB HiFi only four months ago).
At this price its a steal.

I've got them, bought them when there was a Qantas points deal. I've also got QC35v2 and audio technica anc9s, the pxc550 for me, these are better sounding, fit is nicer, micro usb charging and the controls are awesome, the only neg is the look maybe? these are plain looking very plain.

        • @simonjb: How are the Audio Technica ATH ANC9?

        • @simonjb: How does the noise cancelling compare with those other models?

        • +1

          @genuinedude:
They are okay I'd never choose them over the pxc550 due to px550 having bluetooth and being rechargable. I think they are close to the same noise cancelling or a little bit less. I'm bias cos I basically love the pxc550 after using the anc9s. The carrying batteries thing is the main reason I went to the pxc550.For me, It's so much more convenient to use I battery pack that I carry anyway than a bunch of batteries specifically for my headphones. I'm no audiophile bit the pxc550s sound better to me in all ways.

@EightImmortals: it's hard for me to remember exactly, I haven't used the anc9s for about a year. They are a bit 'hissy' though. Not at the level of the qcs or pxc550s. To compare the qc's and the pxc's I'd say I'd be splitting hairs. The pxc's does have addition modes I've never used basically less quiet. Probably better for when walking near cars or hazards.

    • Got a pair myself.

ANC - seems pretty good. Not life changing, but I'm happy.. Beats the hell out of my $200 don't ANCc but I've never tried a boss. Not sure if this helps =P

Audio - i use these 99% of the time on the plane so audio quality is completely lost due to the plane sounds! In a quiet room i find they're pretty good. Easily on par with my Fidelio X2, if not better, especially with treble.

  • I have read several times that the audio quality on these are better than both qc35ii and 1000xm2. However, in store, I found them to be the least easy impressive out of the three. Perhaps if I had more time I'd think differently. Who knows. Also, NC not as good as Sony or bose.

  • Must resist…I already have too many headphones.

    • +1

But…but this is wireless, so…so you can still get another pair~

  • These are the best headphones I have owned.
Have had then for over one year.
    Pros:
    Dual level noise cancelling
Comfortable fit for less discomfort for longish journeys.
    Excellent sound reproduction
    Touch control on right ear.
    Nice looking
Better control through cap tune app

    Cons:
    Ugly, ill fitting, cheapish case.
Noise cancelling is not the best.
Have to fold the headphones for packing, and fear that it might break the headphone.

    • Comf fit and ill fitting ?

  • Does't support AAC codec over A2DP, so, not HiFi for IOS devices.

    • so its not worth getting if you have iphone?

      • Depends how much you value “HiFi”…. SBC codec is the default codec.

        • So better then beats?

        • -2

          @brando12:
I use earmuffs with wired earphones underneath - cheaper and better than Bose, Sennheiser and Beats, combined.

  • Shows me 399

    • The discount is applied at checkout

  • Just checked with Bing lee and they are saying that the discount no longer applies. So it is $399 now.

    • yup you missed out on the deal
