Bose SoundLink Mini II $149 at Bose Store

1030

$149 in Canberra DFO now known as Canberra Outlet Centre BOSE shop - not sure whether it is in all BOSE stores. Maybe price match at JB HIFI-selling at $199

Mod: Spotted at Bose Emporium Melbourne, believed to be all Bose stores.

It's Bose in general. I just checked with the store in Emporium Melbourne.

Thinking of biting the bullet on this one.

    • if the II is as good as the first gen you'll be super impressed with the sound. I paid 200 for mine a couple years back and it's still going strong but at this price I'm tossing it up to get another

    • They are good, sound clear and very portable. I have found the sound better in a table or something where it can reverberate. Gives bit more false bass.
      Overall, worth it!

  • Great price

  • Good price but 10 hours battery life is a deal breaker for me. Sony and JBL last up to 20 hours.

    • +9

you do know you can use it while connected to the power plug too right? Unless you're out for 15 hours at any one time, 20 hours battery life is simply a marketed luxury.

      • Didn't your parents ever take you camping?

        • +30

Yes, but when when we're out, the serene beauty of natural sounds thumps any speakers blasting for 20 hours.

        • +2

@Hamlet: Didn't your parents ever take you outdoor raving?

      • +7

It's also "up to" 20 hours and really depends on how loud you've got it turned up. That said, I wouldn't take the Soundlink Mini II out in the wilderness all that much. It's not IPX rated unlike most other portable speakers (including the newer Soundlink Revolve).

If a portable speaker that lasts 20 hours is an essential camping item then you're doing camping wrong.

Spotted at Pitt Street Mall in Sydney too.

  • That's a killer price. Hope they're still there this afternoon…

  • +3

Given how low the prices have been, it can be assumed that 3rd gen is about to be released soon…

    • It has already been replaced by the SoundLink Revolve

    • I'm reasonably sure that the Soundlink Revolve is the successor to the Mini II.

    • I hope they release a new Soundlink Mini. The new revolves are no where as good as the original Soundlink Minis. I have one from 4 years ago and they still incredibl.

    • +1

Yeah I hope Bose maintains the Soundlink Mini line as it can definitely co-exist with the Revolve line (I would still buy the Soundlink mini, anyways). The Revolve line almost feels like a reactive strategy to competitors like JBL and UE Boom that offer 360 sound with long-lasting battery and durability features at the expense of sound quality.

  • Is it nation wide anyone confirm so can get JV to price match.

    • +5

I doubt that JV would able to match this price.

    • +3

What does JV normally sell it for?

  • +1

Just price matched at jb Chadstone

  • any things else is in discount in Bose store?

  • Ive had one of these for the past three years, the sound out of them is incredible, ive not seen it this low ever…..

  • Heard the new SoundLink will have Google Home
So if not in hurry I would wait
Moreover expect further price drop on 2

  • Anyone has any luck price matching this in Harvey Norman? I tried and they said they don't price match in-store only offers and won't entertain photo as evidence (They want online link or printed catalog). Bose online is still showing $199 as the "special" price.

    • Haven't tried HN, but it worked with JB Hi Fi. They didn't mind me showing the image attached to this thread

    • Ozbargain sin. Do NOT shop at Harvey Norman. Hope you learnt your lesson ;)

  • Bought one the other day at $164 when JB Hifi price matched an OzB offer. Can confirm sound is great in this unit.

Would have been nice to get it at $149, but thats life :)

  • I have one, sound is great (particularly impressed with the bass).

But looking for something battery powered but slightly bigger/louder. Any suggestions?

    • This has Li-ion battery. You mean one that runs off AA batteries?

      • No, I mean rechargable (Li-ion) batteries

        • This has a Li-ion battery in it! You can leave it docked, or take it off the dock to use it in the toilet / kitchen / roofspace / shallow grave

    • +1

      Harman Kardon Onyx Studio

      • Good pick. Great aesthetic too

      • Ia the bass response on the Harmon Kardon Onyx Mini as good/better than the SoundLink mini?

I used to have this Bose Dock (https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/graphics/1/11-13118e.…) and I would LOVE to get sound quality this good

      • Just looked at reviews- it looks great but the lack of Aux, USB charging, and only a 5 hr battery both are negatives. I'm thinking of the Onyx Mini- is that going to sound better than the mini?

  • Price Matched at JB.

The saleswoman told me they accept returns within 30 days, even opened items so long as all packaging is there and the item is in saleable condition. Even saying that a receipt is eligible for refund or store credit, whilst no receipt is only for store credit.

This was interesting as I’ve never heard of such a thing before.

    • yes I can confirm, had a pair of earphones that I exchanged via warranty, then decided it was better to get some xiaomi's took them back to JB to ask for refund and they gave me store credit instead which I was pretty happy with. I did not return it with the receipt.

    • In my experience, JB returns policy is pretty fickle. Best i've ever got is a store credit- after a rather long winded debate.

  • :( $179 listed in Perth BOSE Store.
I'll contact them later today to find out why the difference
they;ll no doubt highlight "freight costs"

AudioHub sell Bose and other hi-fi brands - they aren't a Bose company store, just a dealer.

  • +1

Price matched at JB Wetherill Park - They had about 10 left!

  • Just grabbed one from the Bose store in Penrith :)

  • +2

Can confirm same was seen in Bose Pitt St Mall, Sydney
And then I price matched in JB hi-fi just 50m away from the Bose (even though they did make a small hassle about it - I had to go to Bose and take a photo for them to see because the price wasn't online).

My first price match ever! I felt judged. But I'm on my way to becoming an ozbargainer >:)

    • They still have it in the Bose store for the same price, just got one this evening!!
Why didn't you just get it from Bose but price match it over at JB though..?

  • +1

Jb hillarys wa beat it by $1 - $148

  • The sales guy at JB Hi-fi Myaree (WA) was ridiculously rude and would only offer it for $169. Don't bother with them.

  • I've been tossing up for one of these for a while. After a few hours researching- I decided the JBL Charge 3 is best suited. Only reason being, I'm into more bass oriented music, longer battery, and it also doubles as a phone charger.

Sony XB30L would also be great- but it stupidly uses a proprietary charger (IE no usb charging)

I used to have the SoundLink mini II which was excellent too

  • No price match at Chatswood Chase JB

  • +1

Thanks Op JB HIFI Watergardens (Vic - 3037) were more than happy to match the price for $149.00
The Genuine Bose Soundlink Mini Soft Cover Case was $ 29.95 also scanned at $3.00
so it was a bargain deal !

  • +2

Thanks OP, price matched at JB Belconnen ACT today. Great little unit.

  • Want to find a way to price match at Harvey Norman online. Is there a catalogue or website highlighting this price?

    Cheers

    • No there isn't and they won't price match based on the photo.

  • Hi Folks,
I just brought one of these this morning, sound quality is amazing!!

First I went to Myer Adelaide City and they couldn’t price match. Went across to JB Hifi in rundle mall and they ended up doing $149 including an extended warranty!! So the speaker ended up being $127!!!!

  • Just priced matched at JB-Hifi Homebush DFO, showed the picture and no fuzz.

  • Hi guys,

    thanks OP!
Price matched at JB North Sydney - friendly staff.

    Cheers,
    David

  • JbHiFi Broadway refused to price match it. Went into Rouse Hill JbHiFi this morning and the bloke price matched it with no questions asked!! Top bargain! 😁

  • Is this factory renewed as per the sign in background.
Just tried local reseller who suggesting (FUD) about refurbs.
edit: rang emporium. sold out. confirmed just instore special (clearance).

  • Price matched no problem at JB HiFi Warringah Mall. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great deal, thanks OP!

  • +1

Price matched (eventually) at JB Hi Fi Canberra Outlet. Thanks OP :) great price, I regret not getting two!

    • +2

I was there this morning and the staff is really friendly -no fuzz. However I went with sony xb20 at $75 matching both HN and Officeworks price :p

      • Yeh the brown guy in computers was super nice, normally they don't match photo evidence since Bose website had it at $199 online, but he was chill :)

  • +2

Still loads of stock in both silver/black at the Westfield Sydney Bose store, ends today.

  • Just thought I'd share my price match experience with JB. Sales rep on the floor said she'd check with the manager but came back saying she couldn't match because it was not on the Bose website. I asked to speak with the manager and explained that other JB stores were price matching. He requested a store name, so I gave Belconnen thanks to symeonc. He then looked up all the previous sales from that store for this item and agreed to match.

  • So unfortunate that I missed this deal. If anyone in Brisbane has an extra and doesn't need it, I'll gladly take it.
    Please inbox me! Thanks

  • I came across this wierd bose website. Every bose product available at 95% discount. Can anyone who did business with them confirm if these products really work?
