You connect the filter to your sink tap via the supplied cable. The filter can then sit anywhere on your sink table.
Personally, I am not a big fan of seeing the cable on the sink table. If there's a way to hide this without having to do much drilling, it would be perfect.
The filter cartridge must be replaced yearly.
How much is a replacement cartridge?
I need new filters but my company wants $120 to replace them.
How much are your filters?
A replacement filter cartridge of the same quality is $119.90 postage included, we do have cheaper options available.
May just get a few of these instead. Filter by itself is more expensive.
Pay a bit more and get an RO system.
then spend a bit more to put back the essential minerals.
Lol. Yeh ok, keep drinking fluoride.
Can you please explain this? Keen to know my options and have not researched this topic before.
Thanks.I have had a Bench Top system for twelve years but I recently purchased an R.O. with an Alkaline add-on (about 8 months ago) and I love it. I have suffered from chronic heartburn and was previously diagnosed with severe G.O.R.D which (at its worst) resulted in ulceration of the oesophagus from the stomach all the way to the larynx. I have been managing that for years now but something that has made a huge difference recently is the RO + ALK. I used this unit for about a month and then took a break from it and tried drinking water from my Bench Top unit again for a whole week, the difference was very noticeable. The heartburn had cleared up almost completely while drinking the RO + ALK water and came back on the first day that I started drinking the other water. To be clear, my heartburn is alot better from drinking from my Bench Top system than from Tap water, but the RO + ALK is so much better.
The difference between a proper RO system and a normal filter is large and for people who want to remove fluoride then an RO is the only effective means to do so. An RO system purifies water to a very high degree (and I believe that this de-mineralisation has a leaching effect on the body) and so I purchased the ALK add-on so as to re-mineralise (Calcium/Magnesium/Potassium) the water and also to raise the pH (hence the alkalising effect).
BTW, for renters, you can also buy the RO in a bench top style called 'wall mounted'. Don't let the name fool you, I have mine sitting on the laundry bench and fill up a 15 L bottle for my kitchen.
The undersink models of the Bench Top and RO are also great but will require a plumber to fit them. The Bench Top filter and the 'wall-mounted' RO just need a place to sit and are best for me as I rent.
I installed our under bench RO and I’m no plumber. Basic tools and a handyman will be able to do it in 30 mins.
For under sink models, I know that PWS recommends they are installed by a plumber (mainly because we are obligated to recommend this). My understanding is that it is plumbed into the main water line under the sink and so should have an isolation valve/tap and hence a plumber is required (at least in most states). Any licensed plumber should be able to manage it easily.
We simply supply the unit though, the installation is handled by the buyer.
@furiousgeorge: Which model are you using? Thanks
This is the model I have, except mine is the Wall-Mounted option which is cheaper also.

What is the specification of the unit ?
Details are available via the link, as are contact details for more information.
Most of Australia has tap water that has less impurities than bottled water.
If you have ever been to a country where you can't drink the tap water you soon realise how lucky we are.
I agree, however the water is treated with chemicals to make it safe. Why not remove as many chemicals as possible from your drinking water if you are able to.
Your job is to sell water filtration systems, so of coarse you are going to say that.
I guess the opposing argument is that it's not necessary & the chemicals are so miniscule that they are harmless.
And if you are lazy & don't think you will maintain the filtration system then it's pointless.
Each to their own though.
My inlaws have this one from the same company at their house and it's really good. Have not had a problem in maybe 2 years at least.
Their water straight from the tap has a strong chlorine type of smell and a funny taste, but when using the filter, the water is perfectly fine.
You have to turn a small switch on the outlet of the tap to make the water pass through the filter and back again to use the tap in the sink but it's no big deal.
Yes, you can see the thin hose, but it would not worry me personally.Rep, I'd like to get one and would like to know what filter you recommend for a town water supply and how much the filter is and how often it's replaced.
Thanks. The filter in this deal is perfect for town water, it is the best we have. The filter is $119.90 including postage and handling to be replaced annually.
Thanks mate.
As I said, the inlaws have been using your bench top one for a good 2 years I reckon and have done a replacement that I know of at least once that I have seen and everything has been great.
Definitely buying based on this. Thanks for your reply.
So it works out to be $10 cheaper than the Bunnings equivalent:
https://www.bunnings.com.au/stefani-bench-top-water-filter_p…
But I can't see any benefit to this type of bulky setup over an under bench twin system, which is only $99:
https://www.bunnings.com.au/stefani-double-stage-undercounte…
The under sink option is available at Pure Water Systems also. The filter quality is reflected in the price. An under sink option requires a plumber and a hole drilled for the faucet (the faucet type displayed in the Bunning's link), many renters opt for the Bench Top Filter for this reason.
How, for instance does your 0.5 micron 10" filter have a quality difference that justifies the mark up compared to others?
I purchased a 3 way (mains + filter) tap from Bunnings which replaced the single hole
Here is a brochure available on our website for the filter in this promotion.

I have had a Bench Top system from Pure Water Systems for over 12 years now. I have been working for them for just over 3.5 years too (IT Department), was very excited to get a job working for a company that I had been buying from for so long.
I am renting and so the Bench Top unit suits me best. The difference in taste is huge for me, I dislike going to restaurants/cafes where they serve normal tap water nowadays as even when the water is chilled the chlorine taste (and sometimes smell) is obvious. You could say I have turned into a water snob, lol. The filter that is in this system is probably the best carbon-block technology filter in Australia and compared to the Bunnings offerings is miles ahead.
PWS will also save your contact details and send you automatic reminders each year to service your systems. For cartridge services, the price of postage is always included.
Sorry to ask this question. Before I buy, I would like to know where is this system made from?
The filter cartridge is made by Multipure (USA) in USA and the Housing is made by Pentair (USA) manufactured in China.
The filter brochure is below.

Thanks.
So does this get installed onto a kitchen bench top? How it it portable?
