  • Cheers jaseo. Trying to work out the difference between silver v black. Just the added 9min (battery left) countdown timer on the silver?

      • Cheers bdl, doesn't answer my question but leads to a good review of the silver version.

        • No worries, I know it wasn't exactly what you were after but a bit more info to add to the confusion :D I'm trying to decide whether to switch from Series 7 to 9 (had Series 7 for years… and it's been good), seems like it may not be worth it.

        • @bdl: Likewise! My series 7 is on its last legs and I've been waiting for the price of the S9 to drop nearer to the overseas prices. Seems like the time has come :)

  • Great deal!!!!

  • These are great foil shavers, have the 5 series and it's fantastic.

The trimmer is pretty crappy, but everything else is great.

And you can make your own cleaning fluid with rubbing alcohol and some additive from eBay.

  • It's worthwhile mentioning that you can currently get the Series 7 (760Cc-7) on Amazon AU for $223. It's obviously an old model, but I'm not sure if the 9 Series is worth the extra $150?

    • I had a Series 7 for several years and have had my current Series 9 for ~18 months. Both are excellent foil shavers. The trimmer was better on the 7, but I don't really use it anyway as I alternate electric shaving with DE shaving. The Series 9 is a noticeably closer shave, IMO, and was less irritating overall. The Series 9 has a higher "cross-cutting actions per minute" count - 40k vs 30k for the Series 7.

  • Is it not the same as:
    https://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/braun-series-9-9295… for 333 + 19 = 352

Please correct me if am wrong.

    • No, that one doesn't come with the cleaning cartridge.

And I doubt they're an Aussie company, no ABN and the only contact is chat.

      • "And I doubt they're an Aussie company ….."

They certainly aren't. From the "About Us" page :

"We work from Monday to Friday Hong Kong time 9:00am to 5:00pm which you are also be able to contact our Customer Service Team via live chat during this period."

  • These are great shavers. I paid in the 400's for mine

To +1 a comment above, yep, the little pop out trimmer is crap.

  • Just returned my series 7 via the 60 day Braun offer and upgraded to the series 9 yesterday. It feels much better straight up but obviously have to wait for the blades to mesh in. Same $$ in store.
