Cheaper than Gearbest's expired deal. This is a Fast Qi Wireless Charger that charges compatiable devices quicker than traditional Qi wireless charging. This includes the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X and Samsung Galaxy S8.

This is a generic one, quality is probably better in the Tochic

    • +7

Tochic is just a company that slaps their logo on products. No different than a generic.

Since it's clearly downvote clear night. Boom Alibaba OEM.

This is Ozbargain where you neg the truth

"This includes the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X and Samsung Galaxy S8."

Bargain… Thats close to $5000 worth by my calculation.

    • +4

Too bad I didn't say the deal included it :/ As that paragraph is clearly talking about the fast charging.

      /s

  • -6

Since when was charging at 10W considered fast ?

    • For Qi wireless charger that's fast. We're not talking about normal cable charging here.

  • +3

    A tad cheaper (5c) via AE -

Struggling to see what the 'bargain' is here? OzRRP strikes again.

thing i hate about wireless chargin… using the device while chargin…

    • +1

I couldn't agree more. A lot of people overlook this shortcoming of wireless charging.

      • Wait, can you not use your phone while you’re charging wirelessly??

        • +3

You can, you just cant pick it up and hold it.

        • @JAKEBAB:

or you can leave the device on the pad and use it from there, but how often do you put your phone on the table and use it from there?

Might be different for different people - but i use it while holding it.

Charge speed is slow vs cable but to be expected - i just want it charged as quick as possible.

    • You know I didn’t even think of that.

    • it is advisable no to use while charging

      • Besides extending the charging time what would be the problem? Is it the fact that the phone will be hot?

    • Not that I ever really need to as it charges wirelessly every night but the charging cable plugs into the wireless charger so I just use that. It's kind of a 'escalator temporarily stairs, sorry for the convenience' scenario.

  • +2

    Bought two

Once you go wireless it’s hard to go back to cables

  • I am so interested in this but wonder how long will it takes for the item to arrive here in Australia? *if it ever going to arrive… I am sceptical but interested at the same time. $9.71 is a lot of money and this is as serious as I can get, ain't trolling here.

Free post can take up to a few months…. mine have averaged 3 weeks when picking the free option.

3 weeks is okay, few months is Lost in Transit.

I suspect this supports iPhone 5W charging but not 7.5W.

    • Are there any around reasonably priced that do support 7.5W?

      • At the moment only the two expensive Mophie and Belkin wireless charging pads support "fast" 7.5W charging for iPhone 8 and X. No other third-party charging pads can do it.

        • Do you have a link to any articles about this so I can read more on it?

        • That’s not true apparently, you just need to look out for ones that support 7.5w charging …
          https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.macrumors.com/2017/11/14…

I was thinking how in the world would they achieve blocking fast charging, and the fact it seems is they can’t :p

        • @bowtiehoon: So I’m guessing this charger isn’t compatible with 7.5 watt charging?

        • +1

          @bowtiehoon:
People have done tests on fast wireless chargers and it seems that you can’t get 7.5W charging going on third party chargers other than the officially supported Belkin and Mophie ones.

I did my test using a third party 10W fast wireless charger on 11.1.2 (before 7.5W was enabled) and saw an increase of 17% per 30 minutes on my iPhone X.

Once 11.2 was installed, I ran the same test and it was still charging at 17% per 30 minutes.

This also happens to be the same rate of charging as shown in the RAVpower charging speed test video on their site, so their product isn’t charging any faster than mine was before 7.5W was enabled by Apple.

I suspect Apple have a way of knowing what charger you are using much like they have a chip to identify MFi certified cables or not.

        • @unco: fair enough…
hmm that's interesting, didn't think about how they could use a NFC to block fast charging…bloody bastards!

I'm using wireless charger for Nexus 5, it is slow and making the battery hot. Since this one is "fast charging", so I assume the battery might get even hotter?

    • +4

Only specific devices support Qi Fast Charge. Unfortunately the Nexus 5 is not one of them.

Will this be compatible and safe to use with Note 8?

I like this one way better - can we get the same proce?

  • Nice… looking for one with a stand though

    • I don't think that's a fast charger.

      • They both output 5V 1000mA. Specs say they should work the same, however I do like the Zapals one's aesthetics more.

        • +1

The Zapal one also did 9V/1.67A which I believe is fast charge, 5v 2a is standard.

        • @pranksta:
          Take my upvote, then!

  • Will this be compatible and safe to use with Note 8?

  • +2

I just realised the mouse that I ordered back in April 2016 has never arrived LOL

  • How do I know whether this is compatible with my phone (iPhone 7)?

    • +2

iPhone 7 doesn't come with the wireless charging feature - only iPhone 8, 8+ and X.

  • Hi does anyone know if this will work with Samsung Galaxy Note 8?

  • +2

Can someone recommend a power adapter to buy that will support fast charging with this?

  • does it work for galaxy s7?

    • Yes.

  • -3

Lol wireless charger - the other day I was having my opal card in my iPhone wallet case and it lost its magnetic the next day. Imagine the damage it could have done to your phone battery or even your health?

    • Interesting would you be able to explain how?

      • +4

If you ingest the Qi charger, there is a risk of it becoming wedged in your pancreas, causing you to overcharge.

        • I got overcharged on Xmas day!!!

    • +1

      You have been warned…..

  • Be warned that the output on this is only 5W at 5v or 9W at 9v, dont iPhones only charge wirelessly using 5v?

    • From what I can see they only allow 5w for third party and 7.5w for their own accesories. Possibly due to heat considerations or maybe just to sell more of their own accessories.

Looking into wireless chargers briefly I can see its quite common to get about 5watt from a 10watt input and about 9watt from the 15watt input. Its the same on this offbrand and on the official samsung wireless charger.

You need to supply your own charger either way (partly why its so cheap) so if you want the 9 watts, you need to use a QC2.0 or greater charger. I suspect the more expensive ones supply the proper AC adapter (to be expected given the price differences).

      • Well the answer to my question is yes, iPhones will only charge at 5V over wireless.
This means the wireless pad needs to support an output of 1.5A at 5V to hit 7.5w charging, however, this pad can only do 1A at 5V = 5W, which is the same as the stock iPhone charger.

I think you’re looking at the efficiency of the charger; to achieve 5W output you need atleast 10W input (2A @ 5V), so the standard iPhone charger will not have enough juice. Likewise to hit the 9W (@9V) you need to feed it 15W (1.67A @ 9V)

  • Just to confirm, this doesn't include the AU (or any) plug at all right?

    • Howdy, no it doesn't include any power plug at all. Just arrived today. Ordered on the 29 Dec. Just the micro-usb cable came with it to answer your question.

  • So is there such a thing as a GENUINE SAMSUNG wireless charger suitable for an S8?

  • My charger arrived this morning. So far it's charging fine, but my iPhone 8 slowly slides off the platform because of the soft-touch coating. Might need to put some Blu Tack on it for grip!

  • Arrived today. Looks to be reasonable quality, but the TOCHIC one seems to be better quality due to the non-slip grip but that attracts dust. Time will tell.

  • mine arrived last week & it is really bad when used with a thin case. keeps disconnecting/re-connecting :( anyone facing this issue?

  • got one thanks op. hope it solves the s7 charging error problem of moisture or might have to try a warranty claim

  • Hmm still haven’t received mined? Anyone else?

  • i have seen some complains that this one little bit slippery with some phones

  • So, this doesn't work well with a case. I mean if I have to remove the phone every time I want to charge i don't think there's any use for it. Do not recommend.

  • Finally got it. Ordered a black and white. Of course I received two blacks..

  • Just got mine.
Windows reports “this device has malfunctioned” after a few mins and charging icon disappears on iPhone 8.
    Anyone else have similar issues??

    • -1

It's a charger and not designed for the USB port on a computer. It'll charge very very slowly.

      • It does charge. It just stops charging after a short period of time.
I’ve got USB 3 ports on my machine so power provision shouldn’t be an issue vs. standard iPhone USB adaptor…

Does it have minimum power requirements? I couldn’t find any info listed in the website before purchasing.

        • -1

          Input 9V/ 1.67A, 5V/ 2A

Computer USB ports will draw up to 5V/0.5-0.9A.

  • Do not purchase this wireless charger, heated up my iPhone X to pretty much boiling point.

    • I noticed its doing that to mine. Wondering if i should stop using it..

      • Yeah got on chat support and they are refunding me for it. Yeah best sticking with branded accessories.

        • I emailed zapals. They dont reply - how you do it? Are you sending it back?

        • @richmond12: When you go on their site, while logged in on the bottom right they have like a live support button, press that they are usually online at around the night time and just explain to them the issue. They said i dont have to send it back.
