What makes them better?
WhatHifi.com gave these Bose earphones 5 stars, a pretty good rating. It also says they have a heart rate monitor built in which would be pretty good for people doing sport or exercise.

I had a lot of issues with X3 which I have found aren't very sweat proof. Jaybird customer service is great however, replaced quickly with no hassles.
Probably fine for gym use though, excellent sound quality
Was just about to post this - just purchased - picture incorrect but UPC, model code, etc check out so hopefully all will be good.
A bit confused.. the link takes you to the regular SoundSport Wireless (normally $249) but they're also selling the SoundSport Wireless Pulse ($299) for the same price, which appear from the images to be wired.

iirc, pulse just has additional heart rate monitor (for additional ~$50 @ RRP prices)

Jaybird X3 or Bose? The X3 I think are $129 on eBay, plus 10% off is available. I could score a pair for close to $100 I believe tho.

Bose is more comfortable. But the X3 would have better sound.
