Hey everyone, just bought an iPhone X and it is experiencing some low vibrating / electromagnetic tingling sensations when charging so would like to return and go back to Samsung, taking advantage of the Apple return policy. Is it possible to return an online purchase to a physical Apple store, will be near one tomorrow and would suit better if it could be organised there. Cheers.
Online iPhone Purchase Return to Store

Only problem with your plan is Samsung store will laugh at you
Too much to ask for a serious reply? I am intending to go back to a Samsung phone, which I originally came from. Having experienced this issue with the iPhone,
Why would Samsung laugh at someone trying to buy a Samsung phone from them?

If I was a Samsung employee, I'd laugh at this person's foolishness by buying an iPhone X for a gigabillion dollars.
Yeah that's how you bring further people over to android, by laughing at them at time of purchase.
Android has the largest market share. We dun care
Lol, doesn't take much to ditch a iOS over android these days.
Most people who don't mind spending nearly $2k on a phone most likely have very basic needs. IOS and Android don't really matter when all he does is take photos, facebook and snapchat his mates

Of course it is, man. DO you really want to send your $2000 phone by post in this busy holiday period? I'd shoot myself if it went lost.
Well that is what I’d like to think but being unable to contact Apple today I’d hate to go to the trouble of detouring via the Apple store tomorrow only to find they aren’t willing to help.
You can return online orders at the store.
Sadly the answer is likely to be No. I have done exactly that 1 years ago, the staff in Apple Store refused to accept the return since it was purchased online. At the end I have to submit the return request, print the label that was email to me, then put it in a box to be pickup by TNT. The good news is the return is free of charge.
Having said that feel free to try tho, you might got lucky or the policy might have changed.
Hoping it has changed then, seems like a risk. The local guy that delivers for Apple here is a Star track contractor and the likehood of it being lost in transit and me out of pocket is too great.
Did you buy it online from Apple though?
Previous discussionYes, bought direct from apple
Yes, you can. Go to apple.com, check your orders and initiate a return there.
Then just go to your local Apple Store with your return number.
Going on a slight tangent, I wonder if what you're experiencing is common of all iPhone X units, or yours has a fault. Going to an Apple Store would be good to test this.
Also curious what were your thoughts in initially going for an iPhone X vs another Android device this time around?
At this stage, my thoughts are either platform would meet 90% of everyone's basic needs and quality expectations, and the main differentiators would be mostly a matter of preference, usually around level of customisation control and / or user experience (not necessarily Apple's).
I own an iPad already and thought may as well switch over to iOS as a daily driver, I liked the catalogue of apps compared to android and even though it’s less customisable they tend to require less maintenance to stay smooth (take the s8 for example) where you have to individually clear apps using device maintenance to free up space.
So I went to one Apple store today and they were less then helpful, stating that they can send it for repair or assist me in mailing it in for return. Was told if they did do a swap to another x, it would be a refurbished model. So in the end I rang a different store and just asked if I can do a grace return (have up till the 8th Jan), they were more then happy to accept it. Will be going in to JB HI-FI and buying an 8 plus when the money clears.
Good outcome! Would have been better if the first store just accepted it, but still, you ultimately get what you wanted.
