What gifts did you give and receive for Christmas this year?

Merry Christmas! Just curious about what Ozbargainers gave and received for Christmas this year?

I'll start:
Gave - cash to parents (they requested it), bought a washing machine for the family, Estee Lauder gift set for the older sister and Plantronics headphones for the younger sister.
Received - Mum bought a whole salmon and sliced it into sashimi pieces for the family, which was great. I believe my older sister has sent something in the mail as well, which hasn't arrived yet.

Gave a lot of goods to 4 charities this Christmas, the main one being Share The Dignity. I do not give money to charities, only goods. That way, I know that 100% of my donation is going where it needs.

My Mum and I always buy each other Pandora charms, specific themes relating to what we have seen or achieved throughout the year.

My grandparents have now both passed away, so the only gift I can give them now is beautiful flowers for their grave.

When I was 16, my grandparents bought me Telstra shares. With the dividends that get paid out to me twice a year, I buy jewellery/Pandora to remember them by. Technically they are still buying me gifts even though they are no longer here :)

That is lovely…I am going to do the same for my (*future lol) grand children too….just in case I don't get to see them one day.

  • At my last company I was advised that my secret santa present was a charity donation to a good cause. Evidently I was the only person to receive it so the person who bought it was happy to receive an actual present for themselves instead of asking for a charity donation :S #arseAboutTit

Herpes is a gift for life

    • Unfortunately you can't give it to the same person more than once.

  • I bought a lot of expensive stuff for my family this christmas… but surprisingly… the Ozbargain deal, with the Bluetooth receiver was the one that took the cake, I think it was maybe 30 cents delivered? I dunno, something super cheap, was a gift for my sister along with other really expensive stuff, I just thought she might have wanted it as her car doesn't have Bluetooth. It impressed my entire family so much, now they all want one… go figure… spend hundreds on gifts and it's the cheapest gift that means the most!

  • Does Kris Kringle count..? I got a box of Crabtree Evelyn Ginger Spiced Biscuits

That's all I got but atleast I got something.. :)

Gave out a few toys and electronics.

  • The next question should be, what % of the gifts you received you actually appreciate and not let go to waste…

  • Gave: Red Flags card game via Kris Kringle
Received: Bottle of Moet from the boss and Splendor board game (via Kris Kringle).

    Pretty happy :)

I got 3 Gundam model kits and a Zelda Wind Waker poster, pretty happy with that. Wife got some illustrated Harry Potter books for her to read with the kids, an autographed Frank Turner Songbook CD and she also got a Switch with Skyrim and Stardew Valley. Oh she also got a Galaxy Tab 4.

  • Gave-Xbox one S bundle-FH3+Hot wheels, Forza 6, Injustice 2
    Received-Nothing.

    Life is great.

  • Another Bugatti Veyron 😕

I can't believe how thoughtless my family can be sometimes

  • Gave: Friend A: E-cig package so he can quit smoking. Happy socks and ties for his new job.
Friend B: Quadlock Phone mount for bike
Friend C: A Japanese biscuit set.
Kid A: Pokemon books and Pokemon tshirt

Received: Royal Doulton wine glasses, picnic wine bag, Murder on The Orient Express book, Godiva and Koko Black chocolates, a Stardew Valley tshirt, iPad keyboard dock

    Practical gifts are great :)

  • Secret Santa gift - $15 max was the limit. Given 2 quality shirts, a tie and 3 pack of hankies. Most non ozbargainers would struggle to buy a shirt for under $15.

  • Gave: Nintendo switch, uhd tv, ps4 pro, razor mx350, 3.60 vita, oppo phone. Also, gave my time as a volunteer Santa for a local children's centre.
Received 1000xm2 headphones and famicom mini (collector). The headphones were an upgrade from my old Sony mdr1rbt headphones, sound quality is about the same if not a tiny bit better.

Side note, gave lots of presents because I have a BIG family :)
