Thanks Underdog999

Absolute ripper deal for Pure copper Astrolux A01 BLF Edition (BLF Edition is just branding for BLF forum). Previous low was $10.61 for just the aluminium version as posted here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/296181

These lights are great as keychain lights and works well when paired with eneloop pro's or IKEA Ladda AAA's. Also this one has the Nichia 219B emitter with over 90 CRI for outstanding color representation. Way better than those nasty cool white emitters on cheap lights. These lights never came below $19 USD with coupons and no other AAA copper flashlights available for this cheap due to high production cost and machining.

Review here -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVyv_lH-aCo

Copper flashlights develop unique character overtime due to patina and feels great in the hand.

Aluminium version is also available for USD3.97 (Code - 1ef9bb) with CPFItalia branding here - https://www.banggood.com/CPFItalia-Forum-5-ANNI-Nichia-219B-… but copper version is the true winner here. Both lights have same specs apart from Aluminium being lighter.

        • +1

          Would've thought it'd be exxxy

Is that the first torch deal with a real lumen value?

    Well done to Banggood.

    • +2

These are branded lights :-) Astrolux overstates the lumens value of my Astrolux MF01 but lumens for this one is real

    code is: 95c1c5

    • Just about to post this :-)

      • Also sold out :>

  • What's good about these? They're expensive, and I've never found LED flashlights to be very bright compared to a much cheaper CREE.

    • CREE doesn't make flashlights. http://flashlightwiki.com/Cree

All those CREE branded flashlight's that users like TA post here are Chinese crap (No offense to TA) even though it serves its purpose. Once you get in to high end quality flashlights specially ones with over 90 CRI, you will understand what you were missing before.

      • Well those cheap chinese crap are brighter than any LED flashlight I've seen.

What will this thing do? Is the beam wider? Brighter? Both at the same time?

        • +1

Width depends on the lens. This one is brighter than those $1 AA lights while using AAA cells. Also CRI is over 90 while those cheaper ones maybe around 60-70. CRI explanation here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tISsunRpf0

        • @oxymoron:

I just watched your video. CRI refers the colour accuracy of the light. The higher the rating, the more accurate you will see colours. For a torch though, I only need to see where I'm going. I'm not going to be painting art in the darkness lit only by a torch. I'm not looking for colour accuracy in a torch. It's not a concern to me. I'm happy with being able to see. So I will stick to the $3 torches. What does matter to me is brightness.

P.S. What is the sun's CRI? Is it 100?

        • @lostn:

So I will stick to the $3 torches.

Good. I'm less likely to miss out next time as well for a quality torch.

        • @AngryChicken: You're welcome. But with only 20 upvotes and 283 clicks (I clicked it about 5 times), I can't see what kind of competition you're facing. They must be in really low supply or something because I don't think it's the demand.

        • @lostn: They have sold out. You only need to click on the link once. Ho Ho Ho.

        • @AngryChicken: Low supply. Thought so. I think they should make more if they're that good. Those $3 torches come in like 500 units per code and still sell out.

        • +1

@lostn: Quality products will always be in demand. Low-priced crap will always be in demand. I choose the former, you are welcome to the latter.

  • Would love to collect one esp. for the price but decided a Nitecore TIP CRI (also uses a Nichia LED) would actually get some use. The standard TIP I already have is a great EDC. I love the novelty value of torches but seem to have to invent a need to use one nowdays. Feel sad everytime I see premium torches I bought years ago that have had no use besides a few test runs. Too lazy to go to the effort of selling them on Gumtree…
