This isn't UHS3, please amend your title and description.

    • Why do you say that? Everything says Class 10 UHS-3.

      • +1

Pictures in the review show UHS-1.

        • +1

Which one, specifically? You do realise that the Gearbest listing has options for 32GB (and 256GB) as well, right?

The listing states UHS-3 and one of the answers confirmed the specs as:

          Read Speed: 100MB/s
          Write Speed: 60MB/s

The photos in the reviews of the 64GB ones show the same read & write speed on Samsung packaging.

        • +2

The UHS Speed Class rating isn't written as UHS-1 or UHS-3. That notation is for the bus type (and it's actually UHS-I, UHS-II or UHS-III, never UHS-3). The correct notation for the UHS Speed Class is U1, or U3.

I know it's confusing, but we've still gotta get it right.

        • @sky blu:

received my 64gb and the packaging uhs-1 u3

        • +1

@cainn: Thanks for the clarification. Indeed, it is confusing. I have amended post.

Still a bargain as the other deal is also UHS-I U3.

      • +3

As Sfh1975's comment below states, the interface is UHS1, not 3. The speed category is U3. This has been a repeated error with bargains listed for these cards on this site.

    • +2

Downvoted for being correct. Classic stuff.

    Acc to Samsung Au's website:
Read : up to 80MB/s with UHS-1 interface Write : up to 20MB/s with UHS-1 interface * Actual speed may vary depending on use host device conditions and environment.

BTW, my first-ever comment on OZB :)

  • Why does the website say it doesnt support 4k recording?

    • Yes, you are indeed right. This is 4k compatible.

  • How's the speed of this one?

      • hey thanks :)

        • You're welcome ;)

Any offers for the 32GB microSD?

    • Get at least 64 if you can, 32gb version only gets U1 speed

      • Great advice, thank you. I want to use it for the Xiaomi Dafang, which I believe, supports only 32GB =/

  • I'm really hoping for a 128GB deal.

    • +3

You can get 128gb with code SSU3128CP for US 41.99 which is about AU $55.88

      • +1

        Legend!

      • +1

Its still not that cheap though. LITB was $34 USD 2-3 weeks ago. Im sure they will bring a similar deal back if someone asks

        • Hmm I might reach out to a rep then. Thanks!

        • @Trishool: I decided to buy off eBay using the 10% off deal and cash rewards, came to a total of $58.70 for local stock and from a highly reputed seller (99.9% rating, with 13,908 items sold). Im happy with that.

  • Will this suit a dashcam?

    • @dan76n,
Not really. A dashcam constantly loop records which wears out the sdcard much sooner.
There is a range of "high endurance" sdcards, like from Transcend, and are more expensive.

  • Dang, a second microSD card deal after I bought one from eBay. Oh well

  • I don't know why the description isn't updated to read 4k comp.

Even the ebay listing for the pc byte deal on the 256GB says it 4k.

    • I simply copy and pasted the description from the website's listing. I'm not getting this for 4k recording purposes so I did not look into it.

Seems you've confirmed in a reply to a member regarding 4k compatibility. Why are you uncertain now?

  • OP, serious question, is this posted from Aus or China? The deal is good but the deal breaker is if it's going to take ages to arrive hee.

    • It's Gearbest so it is from overseas (China). The longer shipping times is not a deal breaker. Everybody knows what they are getting.

Here is an eBay listing - Australian stock, for $10 more at your expense.

  • Can this deal be renewed? I need to purchase 7 cards.

    • Will try for you no worries.

    Merged from Samsung EVO Plus UHS-I U3 Mircro SDXC Card - 64GB USD$18.99 (~AUD$24.50) Shipped @GearBest

As per request, some more stock on the 64GB Samsung Micro SDXC Card. Same price as my last post.

Incidentally mine bought on last deal arrived today so it's 10 business days considering it was right before Christmas (22 Dec), the shipping time is quite impressive.

EVO Plus vs EVO - know what you're getting

This is the EVO Plus version. On the packaging of the card I received the advertised (theoretical) speeds are up to:

    Speed Class: Class 10 UHS-I U3
    Read Speed: 100MB/s
    Write Speed: 60MB/s

For comparison, regular EVO cards have:

    Speed Class: Class 10 UHS-I U1
    Read Speed: 48MB/s
    Write Speed: 50MB/s

Yes, the transfer speed on the standard EVO cards is slower than the write speed. There is also the "EVO Plus UHS-1 U1" variant with 80MB/s speed so it's good to know how to roughly identify the speed class rating of an Ultra High Speed (UHS) card:

-First of all, at this price point, the bus type is always UHS-I. Whatever the Chinese (or any other) websites advertise, don't trust the specs 100%. Look at the price and the photos of the product. UHS-III cards are just announced last year and they have insane speeds so I'd doubt the tech is commercialised as everyday consumer electronics.

-The speed class is denoted by a single digit in a U or bracket symbol. So U1 or U3 means the card's read and write speeds are rated to exceed the minimum values as specified by the SD Association.

All credit go to member Cainn and others who have pointed it out on my last post. More info is available on wikipedia if you fancy further reading.

This is what a standard EVO card looks like, at Hardly Normal price :) You can now tell it is Class 10, UHS-I, U1 speed, and Samsung colour-coded with orange. The card on this deal will be Red in colour, with a U3 notation.

Remember to change currency to USD and use a fee-free conversion card for the best exchange rate. For credit cards, you have the popular Coles or 28 Degrees, and for those who don't like using credit, you now have ING Direct (confimed), and of course, Citibank Plus.

FYI I'm working on bringing back the Xiami Umbrella for a third run and also the Wiha Screwdriver Kit.

Anything for my OzB fam :)

Code already exhausted. I prefer Gearbest to some of the other similar stores but, jeepers, these codes expire quickly - frustrating! See how you go activating a few more codes if you can. Tell them to open it up. Everyone in Australia needs one of these!

      • +2

Will do. I am surprised it has already sold out. Let me first sort out with the mod about why my post was unpublished and merged and I will then work out a new deal on the 64GB card. Perhaps the 128GB capacity too, as I know a lot of people would like that.

        • +1

Excellent - appreciate the effort whether it works out or not. Thanks.

        • +1

@fookos: It will work out. I'm a great influencer! I seduce for a living.

          Wait that came out wrong…

        • @sky blu: How do we get your job?! Heh.

Should we be keeping tabs further this evening (noting it will probably sell out quickly again) or likely to be sometime over the weekend if there's more stock - ie. keyboards down for tonight?!

        • +2

@fookos: Oh no definitely get some sleep lol. I don't think GB operates on the weekend (you'd really think they work 7 days a week?). Maybe, I don't know their operations and the process yet. But if anything is gonna happen, it will be next week.

        • @sky blu: Good one - thanks again.

        • +1

@sky blu: I received an email from Gearbest saying I had a pending order and to login and pay. I checked it out and "boom" my cart was sitting pretty at USD$18.99! Grabbed it 👍 Sorted. Sweet.

        • +1

          @fookos: Good result.

        • +2

@PJC: I like the "boom" part.

Still a superb price for a quality 64Gb card.
