    How big are the standard ones?

    • +1

      10" I believe.

      • +10

        This would mean the New Yorker style pizza is 2.5 times the size of a standard large.

        • -6

          60% increase from 10" to 16" - 2.5 Times would be 25" EDIT. I'm an idiot HAHA

        • +6

          @pformagg:

          π r^2 it's actually 2.5 times larger which is awesome for us.

        • +2

          @pformagg:

          radius is squared when we calculate area of pizzas, so a 16" is 2.56x bigger than a 10"

        • +1

          @pformagg: …beaten

        • +2

          @pformagg: Area of a circle equals Pi (3.14) times (radius squared)

          so in short, the area of the 16" pizza is roughly 2.5 times the size of a 10" pizza.

        • @pformagg:

          difference in area not diamater

          old pizza = pi x 5^2 = 78.5
          nyc pizza = pic x 8^2 = 200.96

          = 250% increase

        • @turbodude: Yep, I blame it on pizza brain

        • +1

          @Subrising: Pies aren't square - they're round

        • but does it have 2.5 times the toppings ?

        • @froodh:
          Not sure why you were neg'd for that comment, very clever humour.

        • +1

          @pformagg: reported to the mods.

        • @Aquaius: but dominos are a 9 or less not a 10inch… Measure it against you pee pee

        • +1

          @Slippery Fish:

          i always measure my pee pee and can confirm regular ones are almost always 9"

          bought the 16" yesterday and measured it to be 1.667 peepees (15") :(

        • @Aquaius:haha made my bad night better thanks.

    • -1

      Who gives a shit, it's the dough that matters! Finally hopefully going to get an edible pizza from a pizza chain in this country!!

  • +2

    Is this the size of Costco ones?

    • +2

      Costco is 18" IIRC.

      • +10

        Didn't even know Costco sold pizzas, unless Costco is some Greek dude?

        • food court outside a costco

        • +15

          @scud70:

          Some Greek guy with 18 inches owns a food court outside Costco?

        • @Scab: i did not ask he ethnicity of the guy making the pizza… was hoping he was Italian

        • +1

          You’ve been missing out!

        • +3

          @scrimshaw:

          Wow.

          I've never set foot in or even seen a Costco store, and I thought Bunnings sausage sandwiches were awesome.

        • +3

          he is my friend

        • +3

          Their pizza's are gigantic — and very filling. Normally I can eat a whole Domino's pizza in one sitting, but 3 slices of Costco pizza pretty much does it for me.

          Their bakes — which is like a bastardized version of a Lebanese Turkish Pide but filled with either chicken or korean bulgogi, is also great value.

        • +1

          @scrimshaw:

          I've put visit Costco on my bucket list.

          Don't really like them though because of the joining fee, must find someone who is a member.

          Can I use your membership card, Scrimshaw?

        • +2

          The food court is open to the public, you don't need membership to eat there. I don't have a membership as I doubt I'll shop there much.

        • +2

          @scrimshaw:

          Would you go with me though?

        • +1

          @scrimshaw: The one time I visited Costco, I saw kitchen staff asking to see membership cards. Are you sure those prices are available to non-members?

        • Having been there last year in November, nope, I didn't need a membership card. I simply lined up like everyone else did, ordered my pizza, waited around and then took it home.

          I'll have to see if they have somewhat tightened their belts and made it exclusive for members only.

        • @scrimshaw: Pide is turkish. Your point still stands tho, great value.

        • @scrimshaw: as far as I know in Docklands they won't let you in without a membership card not even to the food court.

        • @scrimshaw:

          Tell me you're going from a distant memory when you refer to the Korean Bulgogi bake. They haven't had that at the Canberra store in at least a year, maybe over two? Instead they have the inferior chicken or mexican style bake

        • @scud70: Also inside the Costco, you can get ones that you need to cook yourself.

        • @alvian: The same in Canberra, I'm not sure what would happen if you said no.

        • @scrimshaw: FAKE. Misleading as that's clearly a Costco from Asia.

        • tailgate / follow someone to get in ….. don't think food section asks for membership card …. seen kids their ordering stuff and parents probably shopping and have the card.

        • @hetzjagd:

          Not at Ringwood either

        • +1

          @scrimshaw: Yeah, the Cosco food court pizzas are oversized to match their shopping experience https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/77509/54879/20150105_0…

        • @scrimshaw: Don't need membership for the food outside the main warehouse, went there twice quite recently, didn't ask to see membership :)

    • +4

      Cook it yourself Costco pizzas are 16", food court 18"

  • +2

    Also, new spam emails coming through today compliments Dominos…

    "hell0, hello, howdy!
    Are you in Melbourne?"

    • +5

      I told them my name was Hamza, so I keep getting emails from Sarah, Hi, is this Hamza?

  • +6

    wow finally, I hope they taste good.

  • +1

    That's a bargain. 2400 calories per pizza though so maybe share it :P

    Anyone tried any flavours? What's the best?

    • +3

      spread it over breakfast lunch and dinner and you don't need to share ;)

      • That's a true Ozbargain approach, I like it.

  • STYPLE

    "There's pizza in the corner.. pizza in the spotlight.. " (huh?)

  • +1

    lol "Sorry, your order does not meet the minimum delivery amount of $21.90" booooooo

    • Mine went through at $21.95 (pizza plus 2 sides at $7) delivered. Weird, I was expecting a refusal in the checkout.

  • +1

    So anyone eaten one of these pizzas? Seems a bit overhyped… Like dominos revolutionary square pizzas hahhaha

    • +2

      The square puff pizzas? They were revolutionary!

    • I am interested as well, the price is not bad at all considering a slice of NY slice from the shop can cost around $8.00. Not sure what the taste is like though…

      • +1

        Yeah considering u can get their regular pepperoni pizza for 5 bucks and u wouldnt want to eat 2 of them..

        • Their base is different so taste wise it should be better though, I rather have a good quality pizza than 2 of the normals

    • +3

      i loved the chefs best crust! :(

  • PAPA GIUSEPPE loves his toppings

  • +1

    Most likely a large chunk of it is pizza base with sauce. The toppings will be miserable compare to the picture.

    • Like that pizza hut family pan where each side has 20 peices of pepperoni, then you pay for extra cos you and the guys are drinking and it has 18 peices spread across the two even though you payed for extra…

      Lol my mate spent 25 minutes on the phone explaining they had to bring him a pizza with atleast 30 pepperoni on each one or a refund delivered to his door because he payed for delivery…

      Moral of the story, no one was silly enough to eat the pizza that came after that phone call haha

      papas in the house with a couple sodi pops.

    • +2

      this pizza was SLAAAAAAMMMMIIING (didn't spit it out though)

  • +2

    ordering the pepperoni and sausage and mushroom,tonight. will let you know how it taste like… for $9.95. i don't think i will complain…………

    • +4

      Tried too. Can fold. A little softer base to fold. But a bit bland, i needed my chilli sauces, blackpeppee crackers to get it being tasty. So is normal for the price, but for full price? No way.

  • +6

    Anyone tried this? How is it?

    • Wax good, got the cheese one and pepperoni and mushroom.

      Wouldn't pay full price, but overall was yummy.

      Only struggle was box wouldn't fit in the fridge :(

  • +16

    Just ordered a PEPPERONI, SAUSAGE & MUSHROOM pizza, will report back

    • +4

      please take pictures

    • +31

      Alright the deed is done. Pizza is pretty big, but a bit smaller than the Costco ones. Taste is pretty normal, has that familiar dominos pizza sauce taste. Toppings are decent but not as much as Costco. The dough is softer than regular but pretty similar to be honest. The slices aren't so big that you need to fold them.

      All in all

      Taste: 6/10
      Value: 10/10

        That's some nice carpet

      • +1

        +1 on the carpet… Are they carpet tiles?
        Are they good, bad or awful?

        • +1

          awful, they are my work's carpet, not mine!

        • +1

          @leeson865:

          Did you steal the carpet from your work?

        • +2

          No, I get paid in carpet tiles.

      • +7

        Should have shown it next to an eneloop for scale

      • -2

        Picture with headphones for scale

        What did the headphones taste like?

        • Pretty much as good as the pizza

        • He's my personal health care companion

        • +1

          @leeson865: definitely need it after eating this pizza

      • I took a bunch of 15 inch pans when eagle boys shut down ND they were going to throw them out (like 30) no idea why you guys are getting crazy over 1 inch ;)

        But seriously, Italian bread dough. Put sauce on, bake till crust starts to form, take out top it then cook, when it comes out brush with garlic olive oil on crust.

        Perfect base, perfect taste, huge and filling. I find Don pepperoni to be best, cut thin and just tastes right, single pack goes a long way

  • +1

    Anyone else find that Dominos pizzas taste like card board the next day?

    Whereas traditionally made pizzas are soggy and still delicious.

    • +4

      Are you toasting it in an oven or nuking it in a microwave? You gotta toast it.

      • Yeah, we've been nuking it in the microwave. Will toast it next time. Thanks for the tip!

        • you can microwave it, but sprinkle some water on top beforehand

          will comes out moist and fresh

        • You can do it in a microwave, just need to do it slow and on a low setting.

      • how do you toast it?

        • Use a convection cooker on low heat.. Comes out great.. As good as fresh.

        • Use a TOASTer. Literally. I'm too impatient for the oven or grilled to warm up.

        • +1

          I've been doing mine in a standard flat sandwich press with some baking paper for years. Crispy and hot. Not quite the same as fresh from the shop, but easily the next best thing (including ovens and toaster ovens).

        • @BradH13:
          skillet with lid is the best for me. Crispy bottom, cooked top. Win

        • @BradH13: cold frypan with a lid and bring to temp, it's as close as you will get to fresh

    • +8

      2nd day cold Domino's is probably the best breakfast one can consume.

      • Yet Another

        Yep, I blame it on pizza brain
