I have rang a couple of Harvey Norman stores today and have been told that they no longer sell the Visa cards, does anyone know if this is true?

I don’t know if you’re joking, but I don’t get your humour.
Nah there pulling your leg. Drive to the furthest one from you and they'll sell you a visa card.
Where do you mean by “there”?
There is literally not the word "there" in Poynter70's comment.
You mean to tell me harvey norman lied about the visa cards and how to spell they're.
They’re probably omly saying that as they think you’ll pay for it with an AMEX
My thoughts also, which is why I asked as I thought maybe an “insider” may know.
They have dropped all the cards, and disabled the epay machines since the promotion with Amex started.
Thanks
No, HN just lying to you as they don't want your business.
Camp out the front of store until they sell you new old stock. Stand your ground. Don't be bullied by Gerry.
This thread is weird.
I think that OzBargainers, including me, need to accept defeat on trying to buy HN GiftCards/equivalent on their/there AMEX deal.
Bought $800 of HN e-gift cards last week online. No issue - even had one purchase of 2x$200 vouchers reviewed then cleared without intervention 18hrs later. Amex credits came through today :)
Oh! One of mine was rejected and the debit of $400 was reversed. And the active offer was removed from my Amex account :(
Why would HN reject HN E-gift card purchases?
Are they worried you might try spend it at JB Hifi.
Surely it is the same as buying an item from a store, oh thats right you give HN $400 and in return they send you an email with a code that you may or may not use before the expiry.
I wish i had a business where customers were so keen to buy my gift cards so i could keep hold of the money until the card was redeemed.
@Stoozer: I agree. If we buy their Gift Cards, then THAT is money we are actually going to use at HN. Maybe they are concerned about losing AMEX deals on their company if lots of people buy GC's
I am curious who wears the cost of the Amex HN credits, i would be very surprised is HN contributed to the potential $4 million dollars (40,000 x $100). Amex will more than likely cover the whole cost.
Yes I have frequently read that AMEX wears the cost. But it is all about turning around the situation where a lot of companies won't accept AMEX. Also I know that 'Small Business' participants pay a low fee for AMEX use.
Dunno have you tried ringing them up and asking?
