I got this price matched at JB a few weeks ago for the same price and I’ve gotta say it’s quite a nice monitor, worth it for the price for general use. No VESA mount, but a nice display.

    • What's a Vesa mount, and is this better than the 28" Benq ones that people loved?

      • +3

I think it just means you can’t mount it to a wall mount or stand seperate from the one they provide, it comes with a specific stand to click into it. And I can’t compare to a 28” benq but I had a 24” benq and from what I have noticed it’s a bit more vibrant in colour and a bit more clear, the benq was primarily for gaming though with 1ms whereas I just use this for general use now.

Your BenQ is older, screen color and image advances lol.

        • @Slippery Fish:

This screen is probably just as old as my benq but still in production. I only got my benq at the start of last year.

        • @doweyy: oh ok, my BenQ is like 10, had it since I was 15 or 16 :P likely have it in another 5-10. Solid screens.

        • @Slippery Fish: lol lol lol

That’s a shame no vesa mounts

    • The lack of a VESA mount really is annoying (and thanks v much for letting us know!).

Nowadays the ability to mount on a 2 monitor bracket or something directly onto the wall is really useful..

    1080p if anyone was wondering

    • -4

      What else would it be?

      • +7

        Could've been 1440p…

        • +5

          For $199? Doubtful.

        • 1440p panels getting flogged off for $199? Yeah nah.

          @airal3rt:

Well I got my 27" 1440P IPS Korean monitor for $309 delivered in June 2012 and it's still going strong so I'm kinda surprised it isn't standard by now.

@Kegsta: Mine crapped out after 6 months.

          @Kegsta:

          It's so frustrating they aren't standard. 1080 just isn't enough for 27"

        • @MrMcHairyHead: Ouch, were you able to claim warranty? half of the Screen on mine died, after two years - ofc after warranty expired Luck of the draw I guess with Kogan.

Was cheaper last year. Based on the comments, some people even managed to buy one of these at $149.

Last year… Public transport fares were cheaper too.

      • +1

        That's some seriously high inflation

        • IKR.

      • Technology is generally deflationary due to improved efficiency and innovation. Public transport is an inflationary service, most public sector services increase in costs over time.

Not always, look at RAM prices.

Did you notice the word 'generally' in the sentence?

I can't imagine anyone buying a 27" FHD monitor for anything other than playing games? My 24" monitor is already a little too large. 😐

  • +1

    Full HD (1920 x 1080) - 5 ms - 60 Hz

    • That basics then.

  • Is the pixel BIG?

    • not really. It’s just very HIGH

    • +2

Yes. For productivity (design, office etc)1080p suits 24 inch okay whereas 27 inch really should be 2560 x 1440. Fine for games though.

    • Which one?
      There are 2,073,600

  • It annoys me that the clock in the picture says 13:36

    • -1

It annoys me when someone arguing about preferences.
