I just received mine after ordering 2 days ago, was sent by express post and it came with a flat network cable.
This is probably the best cheap wireless router you can buy as it comes with 64MB RAM, 8MB flash and is compatible with DD-WRT and Tomato

  • So this 100% works with DD-WRT so I can use this for a XBOX 360 wireless apartor rather then buying the offical one?

ok to play xbox 360 online games even tho its a G and not a N?

Wont be streaming HD movies, but maybe some dvd rips the size of 1300meg

My main Modem / Router is a Belkin N 300

    • Well it's listed as compatible with DD-WRT so it should definitely work.
It should work fine instead of a 360 wireless adaptor using the ethernet port. Games don't really need much bandwidth so G should be fine, even for streaming DVD rips.

  • I assume it will work as an access point as well. Or is there any flashing to be done before I could implement that?

    • Yes, this wireless router is an AP.

    • Yer I wanna use it as a Access Point for my XBOX 360 so then it can connect to my Belkin N 300 wirelessly. Think you need to istall DD-WRT, I wonder if thats easy to do??

      • Not sure how you mean. This wireless router is the kind that people use to get Internet access from their notebooks and netbooks within an area around the router. Like your Belkin. Or if you like, a combo modem/router minus the modem. What's different about Xbox? Does it not have a wireless network interface?

        • the xbox doesn't have a wireless "card" so It doesn't natively support wireless functions, you need a dongle for that, which this can do!

        • I don't see how you can substitute this for a wireless card, but then I don't know the Xbox. You could I suppose connect the Xbox to the ingoing side of the router and then the Xbox would be accessible to wireless clients, but then it would be on a separate network from your current WLAN.

Assuming dd-wrt installs on it easily, you can then configure it as a client bridge. It effectively becomes a wifi adaptor with an ethernet socket on it, so you can plug the wifi-less xbox into it.

        • Ok, gotcha.

        • It says it supports WDS so shouldn't it be able to do bridge, repeater functionality based on buffalo firmware.

        • WDS requires your main router to support WDS too. Client bridge mode doesn't, as it behaves just like a regular wireless network card.

      • If you dont want wifi N something like this might be better

It takes power form USB so is easy to power and doesnt waste power on a power brick

  • Very useful to act as a VPN endpoint. Stick this on your home network with something like TomatoVPN on it, turn the other stuff off, and you can connect into it from anywhere.

  • So this is what I am looking for Spawnpoint?, this will work as a wireless dongle for my 360 and connect to my Belkin N 300

But will it play online games fine seeings its not "N"

And is DD-WRT easy to do?

    • you would be able to connect this to the LAN port of the xbox. It's basically working as a wireless router with the added benefit of connecting up to 4 devices via LAN and extending the range of your wireless network albeit with lower speeds(g).

Gaming would probably be ok-ok, you may experience some lag :/

DD-WRT is pretty easy to flash but its the setting you have to careful about. Since you have a belkin router, I'm guessing most of the setup was automatic but with DD-WRT you will have to do most of the work yourself..ie router settings, port opening and bridging functionality. But it's well worth it in the end and you get the same functionality as any expensive $150+ router.

    • But will it play online games fine seeings its not “N”

      Yes it will.

G is fast enough for games, probably faster than your internet connection

    “page not found”?sold out?

  • I just Rang batteryshack and they advised me they had 16 left as of 4.16pm syd time on 29th november. I just bought one :)) Cheap as chips.

  • Does this modem/router support multiple PVC so that I can setup tpg iptv with normal internet access?
